>A free, open-source media app for your phone, your desktop, and the TV you already own. Bring your own sources. Nuvio turns them into a library with artwork, ratings, subtitles, and your place saved on every screen. https://github.com/NuvioMedia/NuvioTV/releases/tag/1.0.0Basically an open source Stremio for the people. It's so fucking good.
>>109854586plex exists
>>109854603This is not plex
How does this compare to Jellyfin?
>>109854586no thanksI'll stick with jellyfin
>>109854718>How does this compare to Jellyfin?totally different type of app
>>109854586DVP7 my ass.
vibecoded shit of the week
>>109854636stremio then
>>109854872>>109854603OP literally says it is an open source, community-run version of Stremio
>>109854878it was too long, didn't read
>>109854944This.>>109854878So I should stick with stremio, got it.
>>109855181>So I should stick with stremio, got it.i mean yeah if you want to use software run by a company that hates you for not paying them money and using their software for piracy
>androidbye
>>109855238Nuvio runs on everything
>>109855274Oh yeah?
>>109855322Are you retarded?>hurr durr why does the TV version only work on TVs?
>>109855351Only Android TVs, dumbass. Are you well?
>>109855322Holy shit you are dumb
>>109855406All TVs are Android
>>109855521not him, but that's wrong, LG's webOS, Samsung Tizen, Apple, Roku
>>109854737>A free, open-source media app for your phone, your desktop, and the TV you already own. Bring your own sources. Nuvio turns them into a library with artwork, ratings, subtitles, and your place saved on every screen. sounds similar to me, what makes it not same at all?
>>109854586looks ok on the surface, might give it a try
>>109856172All based on Linux
>install this thinking its a way to share locally stored media between devices >its piracy i mean i dont mind piracy but apps like this have short life spans
>>109856270Nuvio is just a media center, it won't get taken down, even then the whole backend is self-hostable, just like the addons that enable the piracy part. It unirconically solves convenient movie streaming.
What is the best setup for Nuvio? I just want to be able to stream shit and have a nice catalog with ratings. I don't care about all the fancy shit.Yes I am a clueless retard. Spoonfeed me a guide.
>>109857142>Pay for a cheap vps to self-host AIOStreams and AIOMetadata. >Pay for a debrid service since you're not a thirdie, Torbox, Real-Debrid or Premiumize are good options, I use Torbox and RD, since Torbox is ran by retards but I use their usenet. They also have 20% off the yearly sub right now with a coupon so you just pay 2$ a month.>For AIOStreams get the TamTaro's SEL filtering and sorting and apply it to your AIOStreams setup, find a nice looking formatter in their discord.>For AIOMetadata use bettr posters, there's also openposterdb you can self-host for posters. You should be able to figure out everything in between like what accounts you need.
>>109856270>apps like this have short life spansnot really. stremio is still around. kodi addons, same thing.
>>109857142>What is the best setup for Nuvio?Literally just add a plugin from https://nuvio-plugin-library.vercel.app/ and enjoy it.
>vibe coded Jellyfinyeah no thanks
>>109854586buy and ad
>>109859489it's not jellyfin in any way
>>109854718it's not like jellyfin you dweeb
>>109856187>totally differentNuvio is miles better but that guy is retarded. They are both media centers.Nuvio>Want to watch movie>Search movie in app>Scraper returns ranked torrent results>Pick top one and stream it directly through a debrid serviceJellyfin>Want to watch movie>Look for the torrent>Download movie>Wait for download>Watch itWhen I found out about Stremio I closed down my entire *arr stack and Jellyfin, I don't want to tinker with disk space or manage *arr stack just for the benefit of having the movie on my hard drive. Besides Nuvio allows you to download and watch offline anyway.
>>109861662>directly through a debrid serviceIt doesn't need debrid at all. I just play videos through the plugins.
>>109861668>It doesn't need debrid at allIt does if you care about quality, the quality you get through plugins isn't comparable to torrents. If you watch on your computer then sure it's probably enough, AIOStreams with SEL filtering is a godsend though.
>>109854586nice logo
>>109861740>It does if you care about quality, the quality you get through plugins isn't comparable to torrents. But it is. The plugins basically stream the same files you get from torrent sites. The filenames are the same. I streamed a remux that came from private trackers via Nuvio the other day and it worked fine over my fiber connection.
Neat, but I already use Plex and this sounds similar.
>>109854718jellyfin = player for media you already downloaded, personal media library managementnuvio = player with online media discovery and auto-downloading (torrents, debrid)
>>109861924>Neat, but I already use Plex and this sounds similar.it's not. it's like stremio
>>109861938>nuvio = player with online media discovery and auto-downloading (torrents, debrid)wasn't popcorntime like that until they got hit by a lawsuit
>>109862050exactly, which is why now they dont actually ship this functionality, but its a "third party" "plugin"
>>109862074>exactly, which is why now they dont actually ship this functionality, but its a "third party" "plugin"Nuvio ships with torrent support. Certain plugin just connect you directly to torrent indexers. It's no different than downloading a torrent client that searches torrent sites.
How do I get sources
