I understand this is an unserious thread, but I've been thinking about this over the past few days.It's well known that mainstream media crying about a threat to "us all" translates to a potential threat to the oligarchs/established order (or as pol says the jews). It's also more or less common knowledge that every major US tech company is in bed with the government/military.Indeed, a capable individual equipped with a local model on decent hardware currently has more power and personal agency than any "commoner" in human history. Or in other words, the greatest ability to pose a threat to existing power structures.Throughout my relatively short life so far, the internet has become increasingly censored. I am wondering if a future "play" will be to dramatically increase these restrictions/censorship such that everything must "go through" ChatGPT or equivalent. Places such as libgen, stores of information which local models could potentially use as inputs, seem an obvious target.Interested in others thoughts on this

The stadium owner, Robert Kraft banned macklemore, because he said bad think. Krafts stadium is subsidized by tax payers. Effectively a governmentally funded for-profit enterprise is being used to violate citizens constitutional rights. All the tech corps do the same thing, as well, but its a much larger problem. Laws need to be made that any entity being given $1 or more of public money, should be held to same standards are the governing body else all its government money should be cut off. This should include tax breaks and other loopholes. It should be blantantly illegal for these "private" companies to do this shit. I theorize companies like "blackrock" and other investment firms are also government funded. If true, they should also be cut off from funding if caught backing ventures who violate the constitution. If free market absolutists want to play the "its a private company" card then they should be 100% private.

A lot of worlds hackers wouldnt do a thing because its a lot of effort, theres no profit motive, they risk jailAn AI model skips through all that to doing it in 1% the time it would take a motivated hacker. Say you could have a robot, automatic car, a spinning thing in a factory that somehow has access to the internet. In an AI apocalypse scenario those might just get possessed, the ai kills people with it or causes infra damage and your only option left is disable all the devices that are similarly vulnerable and try to ask an AI to find and fix the exploit. A tesla type company would risk bankruptcy if enough cars get hacked, trillions of potential shareholder damage.It's gonna take a while to work the world in a state where hyper capable hacking AI's and motivated malicious human operators exist out there.
