Zig's creator is pretty based. Love his idea of constructing a language slowly and has this vision of it being still in use half a century from now.
It's fundamentally the opposite philosophy to most modern "engineers" a lot of them who are creating things that break constantly and will be discarded in 6 months.
I just can't fathom the idea that, as an engineer, I should want that model over the idea of eventually building a software so balanced, stable, and mature it doesn't need to be updated anymore and is usable a thousand years from now.
Not to mention the preference for the smaller teams over large faceless organisations, like the state or multinationals, and his philosophy regarding the ownership of code.
When Anthropic pulled the rewrite it really clicked into place why I dislike the culture arround AI vibecoding so much.
