Be honest, is this really necessary? Am I really better off using a program that was developed in 3 nights like xreader instead of using already popular and well established programs like evince?
Should I uninstall all programs and install whatever is popular on other distros instead?

Some of them (like the updater, system backup tool and fingerprint tool) are cool additions that other OS should use, while other apps (like the new calendar and the forks of old gnome apps) exist because the devs of the main apps went full retard (the gnome calendar shat xir diapers because Mint was using an old version shipped by Ubuntu and Debian and its users were reporting bugs that were solved in new versions).

Not really. These apps are made to (at least in theory) be used with any DE, not just Cinnamon.
