How crazy would it be to think that printers are programmed to print a bit worse every time they're used?
Epson TX115 I got a few years ago and I use once or twice a year, same print settings and same printhead
Front: ORIGINAL firmware
Back: custom firmware WITHOUT COUNTERS (ink, pads, printhead)

Put the counts back in your custom firmware and do a print at 0 and a print at a high number, that’s a proper A/B test.

Consumer printers are sold for 0 profit (or even at a loss) to make you buy them and then they rip you off with the ink cartridges which by the way cost less than 25 cents to make.
