Google keeps changing internet standards and websites mindlessly updoot to them despite it breaking older (or independently developed) browsers for no benefit.You either use a Chrome fork, use Google's bitch (Firefox), or you just don't go online.

For anyone to compete they need to deal with the billion of nonsense that google et al introduced after forming the whatwg after disagreements with the w3c that wanted to keep it as the web of hypermedia while google et al wanted it as a web of jeet script "apps" so they can compete with MS which control the desktop, spy, make gimmicky fancy websites, sell more hardware, and just have more control on our lives.There's no competition because they realized it's a losing battle. Though I think if someone wants to compete easily he can build upon cef and focus on userland features rather than the web mess, let them deal with their shit
