A lot of leetcoding and hookups at companies. If you can ace the coding interviews you are set. There's also design and behavioral but those aren't difficult unless you're autistic. I had friends at nvidia and meta who referred me and I had 3 simultaneous offers from microsoft, meta and nvidia. I was working at Apple at the time. But apple was total luck, had no connections there and just got in purely from cold applying and a shit ton of leetcoding. For 6 months during the pandemic while working at home I slacked off at my job and I literally spent 2 hours a day leetcoding and memorizing solutions in the algorithm design manual.
