Most PC games didn't have releases so you have to make something new.Two, nothing is standardized. There's the retards that try to brand everything with steam logos like steamgamecovers, but that's stupid because steam is a proprietary client they don't develop anything. They are PC games, not steam games. If you want a functioning decal site like steamgridb, you need strict rules, and strict image standards and sizes. One only has to look on steamgamecovers to see the garbage that's put on their, it's mostly terrible.Just in a couple hours I made more progress than any of these retards. The hard part is automating it, and making it look good. But that's highly subjective since some people prefer certain styles over others like accents on image windows.

The real travesty is modern physical console case artwork. The spines are atrocious. The font sizes and logo sizes are all over the place The back has zero uniformity. It's filled with warning labels and slop half the time with no purpose or function.

>>109912165I can already name a few things wrong with that cover art version. It that has multiple languages on it which is useless. Has quite a bit of logos that don't really do anything or tell you any information about the game. Ultimately the spine label is an odd choice given that the game has a minimalist aesthetic so putting the same graphics on the spine that the front already has is just redundant. The stylized artwork is nice but it's so small because 30% of the back is taken up by a wall of warnings and small text.

Design language will always be subjective. For example Nintendo for their cases used to do colored backs behind their logos but with the 3DS they mostly stuck to a white background design language and for the switch they did all red to unify the look of the library.You have trade offs. If some cases are solid colors and others are actual textures, it clashes, so you can't organize them alphabetical easy because they visually clash.
