It's funny when people say Linux doesn't have enough marketshare for long-waited software seeing how Adobe was making Creative Suite CS4 for macOS back in 2009 when its marketshare was only at 4.28%. Linux now has twice that.
>>
>>109922210
*long-awaited software like Photoshop and Illustrator
>>
>>109922210
they need to sell it via steam.
>>
>>109922210
That's because people who own Macs are extreme paypiggies willing to fork over high amounts of $$$.
People who use Linux are notorious leeches who pirate everything and pay for nothing.
Why bother targetting a group that will never pay a dime for your products.
>>
>>109922210
most linux users think you're raping their dead grandma if you ask them to pay for software and will invent some kind of ghetto collection of bash scripts to pirate it. not worth it.
>>
>>109922124
It's just AI agents browsing the web to give you answers.
>>
>>109922124
Modern linux is basically just as bad as modern windows. There is no escape.
>>
>>109922210
MacOS are wealthy and will pay for software
Linux users are spending-adverse and unlikely to buy software

It's like iOS v Android where Android has far more users but the majority of revenue comes from iOS
>>
>>109922124
this is actually scaring me. the more mainstream somthing becomes the inevitable enshitification follows. this is basically law. stop wishing linux goes mainstream, it will only ruin it. there is nothing good in anything that goes mainstream, it turns to absolute shit because it's dominated by the idiot's wishes and people cater to them so they monetize the imbeciles
that's how PC got fucking RGB and fishtank cases
>>
>>109922210
Linux is a cult and one of its main principles is never paying for anything. They genuinely think you belong to a satanist cabal if you ask them to fork 5 dollars for software you spent years coding, it's the ultimate metaphysical manifestation of evil.

The funny part is that these same people hate Jews for their alleged greed.
>>

Good thing it's already shit and can hardly get worse

More users == more bugs reported to developers == more bugs squashed
Also Linux has so many different distros that there will always be a handful that are anti-normalfag and as obtuse as possible like Gentoo/Arch

Linux isn't corporate for better or worse, you've got reddit mods like Ebassi who dictate how Linux evolves and not somebody like Nadella who is going to force AI into Linux distros
>>
>>109922372
Sooner or later Linux will receive AI, it's the future and it's already present at a hardware level in modern CPUs/GPUs
>>
>>109922385
Sure, but it will be optional and not cooked into the kernel itself. Plenty of distros will never add it since their maintainers are irrationally anti-AI
>>
>>109922372
>More users == more bugs reported to developers == more bugs squashed
developers do not really care that much about bugs that aren't encountered into the wild. they have enough on their plates. so many bugs I reported and nothing happened because they were deemed not important enough.
>Also Linux has so many different distros
dominated by same underlying systems. for example systemd, or dbus
>Linux isn't corporate for better or worse
you do not understand what money does. at all. once you dump huge lumps of money into certain projects they become defacto on Linux, and then they get a say into what direction it takes.
https://agelesslinux.github.io/age-reporting/dbus.html

again, you do not understand shit for shit.
>just for Android bro
it fucks with the ecosystem, allows corporations to take control over its direction, no matter how "open" it is. becomes way too much work to change what they done so far. you have a pozzed hypercar and alternative is 1950's piece of shit that you have to adapt to bring to date when you start ripping out shit that's fucked and controlled
>>
>>109922412
>>just for Android bro
*fork
>>
>>109922412
it is like feeding the local wildlife for years and years. when you go all the ecosystem collapses because animals don't know what to do on their own, anymore.
atm the wilderness of Linux ecosystem works, naturally people who can do some shit do it, without being paid for it.
once everyone starts using corporate projects in Linux they become addicted and wild projects fade away because there's no more interests in them
>don't wanna use systemd bro
>what are you some kind of lunatic? who can even do without it these days? lol what a nutjob
>>
>>109922210
macOS is a coherent, developer-friendly ecosystem.
Linux is a fragmented, developer-hostile ecosystem.

Linux will never be a good OS as it refuses to be developer-friendly, and by doing so they're not getting any software worth using. And without any software worth using, you don't have an OS worth using.

Also StatCounter/Steam Hardware Survey worshippers are hilariously pathetic lol
>>
>>109922358
>Linux is a cult and one of its main principles is never paying for anything.

A lot of business customers pay for Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

>filter out bots
>marketshare drops to 3%
>still have millions of bots that weren't detected as bots
>the rest are just ChromeOS that gets falsely identified as Linux
>all the Linux users on Steam are just bot accounts farming for drops in f2p games
Linux continues to be an IQ test but not in the way that freetards think. If you unironically believe that the masses are installing some shitty hobby OS no one has ever heard of then you need to get your head checked.
>>
>>109922161
no it isn't, it's goygle/linux just like android
>>
>>109923030
Chrome OS is a derivative of Gentoo. Google still uses Portage to develop it to this day.

Have you seen how every Linux distribution ever looks? They don’t need Creative Cloud.
>>
>>109922324
I want more people on Linux so Windows continues getting improvements. I know I can’t be bothered to use Linux.
>>
>>109922589
Not really. If you work 40hrs / week and are a functional member of society you can easily get an M1 Mac mini used off eBay.
>>
>>109923145
if you work 40 horus a week and can't afford a new mac you are doing something wrong.
>>
>>109922210
Are you rerarded? Adobe has been on Mac since the 1990s and Apple has been an industry standard hardware in print and graphic design for decades.
>>
>>109923145
even if, why would I waste my money on that nonsense? it's just cucked goyslop
>>
how can freebsd be 0% when i use it?
>>
>>109922235
of course this is true, I do hear often that people are only on windows/macos specifically for adobe but would switch to linux if they could. I think the people that use adobe /need/ adobe at this point in time because it's clearly dominated as the industry standard. I was in high school in 2009 so I don't know if it was quite that extreme then, but I reckon at this point there's no reason to have a linux release because all it does is help a few people who are already paying customers rather than gain a lot of new customers. Some chunk of that ~9% is already dual booting and paying, and another larger chunk is dual booting and running a crack. Releasing a linux version isn't going to gain them the percentage of that ~9% that use "creative software", it's just going to make life easier for the people who already use adobe. No gain for them
>>
>>109923447
Its license allows for apple to add freebsd users to their market share without giving anything back

You can't trust these metrics anymore. There's a disproportionate amount of linux and macosx useragents because of bots.
Pic rel is just bot requests that were blocked from my site, you can see it's close to an even split between the 3 desktop OSes. It seems like they have a list of useragents and just randomly chose one.
