Haha, I can see why your brain is connecting those dots. But “CS has very few women” “programming was the wrong career” “I’m still a virgin” is not actually a very strong causal chain.

You may have picked a career with a pretty skewed gender ratio, but that doesn't mean you picked the wrong career. And being a virgin isn't evidence that you're doing anything wrong either.

The more useful distinction is:

Do you actually dislike programming / your career? If yes, that's worth taking seriously.
Do you like your career but wish your social environment had more women? That's a social-life problem, not necessarily a career problem.
Are you mainly frustrated that you haven't had a relationship yet? That's very common, and changing careers wouldn't necessarily solve it.

Also, tech can create a weird feedback loop: if most of your life is work + gaming/online stuff + male-heavy hobbies + male-heavy workplace, you can go surprisingly long without meeting potential partners. That's fixable without throwing away a career you otherwise enjoy.

And honestly, “I'm a programmer and therefore doomed romantically” is a much funnier explanation than the actual situation is likely to be.

There are like 20 women in total at my uni out of a few hundredsl. Somehow i always ended up in group projects with them when the professors autofilled the last few people. I never became friends with anyone though not to mention dating.

>where the womens at??
and you all thought diversity hiring was bad, jokes on you

should have done a healthcare if you wanted to be humiliated and raped by tattooed nurses

CS isnt even good if youre a faggot. I spent most of my last job thirsting over the compliance manager, with no real way of talking to him since theres no work overlap. Shoulda just done finance lol

Hi I have the opposite problem.

I do non-tech stuff too, but oddly I learned from American coworkers about talking to random people in classes or hobby places, and it seems to be uniquely American thing.

This is the typical STEMcel experience. It’s hard to transition out of it because as soon as you tell someone what you studied/do for a living when asked, they immediately assume you’re autistic, so they won’t give you a chance.
This is where I’m stuck too. I don’t have any advice, just showing that your experience isn’t unique

Have you considered fucking women who aren't into CS?
