if put my ssds in a bowl of water and then microwave how long untill my discs are irreversibly destroyed?Does this method even work?
Sounds retarded, just drill a hole on the chips and be done with it.
>>109935454i want to put my SSD in her drive bay and inject my code into her database if you know what i mean
magnet + wood chipper
>>109935473>just drill a hole on the chips and be done with it.that's how you get caught - they specifically make ssd cases much bigger than actual chips so that will not damage them at all by just drilling one hole (through the middle)since you don't like my idea and at the same time post glowie-approved malinformation it actually gives credence to the original idea
>>109935724Re-read my post, I said, drill the chips, fucking retarded faggot.
>>109935742you re-read my post, I said, malinformation (not misinformation)you didnt post all that sorrounding vital information so even though you said drill a hole (one hole) the chips, unaware anons who read your post would only drill the middle of the ssd case rather than put multiple drills to make sure chip are destroyed
>>109935774You literally quoted my post saying "drill a hole on the chips", chips is a plural word and means all the chips on the ssd, but you're such a massive retarded faggot and inmediately said "that's how you get caught" because you can't read for shit. Kys, don't ever quote me again.
>>109935829again you're spreading malinformation by saying 'a hole' rather than holes this choice of wording can only be explained if 'chips' in your post was meant to refer to multiple discs in an attempt to deceive as most users are not awate ssd has more than 1 chip you clearly wrote a malignant post so i am going to quote you to highlight the fact that a person who is not only posting malinformation but also very angry at being exposed which is very suspicious doesn't like the initial idea :)
>>109935454
>>109935890not him but you're retarded. a single hole through each chip is sound advice. you only need one hole per chip. he said "chips" and not "the ssd/case" on purpose.
>>109935774>you said drill a hole (one hole) the chips, unaware anons who read your post would only drill the middle of the ssd caseyou sound like the kind of person who'd get caught
>>109935910and now you're also samefagging while ignoring the entire argumentyep not suspicious at all
>>109935924I'm a 3rd anon chiming in to also call you a retard. You've already been corrected multiple times and still refuse to admit you were wrong.
>>109936047How am I wrong for correcting and clarifying his clearly misleading post that could get g anons in trouble? all you're doing is samefagging to call me a bad goy at this point do you think i care about your glowie insults and social shaming techniques in a thread about destroying incriminating evidence?
You don't need to put them in water at all, just toss them in the microwave. If you're concerned, take them out of their cases and toss the raw PCBs in there.
>>109935454>Russian Doll StructureLevel 1 (Host/Outer VM): Looks like a normal, everyday operating system. Inside it sits an encrypted container holding the next VM.Level 2 (Middle VM): Completely isolated. It runs inside the memory of Level 1. It holds the final encrypted container.Level 3 (Inner VM): The "Holy Of Holies." This is where the actual sensitive data or top-secret code lives.Just have at least three virtual machines, each encrypted, and block all attempts if the password fails. And I don't know, maybe take advantage of the fact that if something isn't on your PC, it's not your responsibility; use a VPN, and... well, store everything on the internet.
>>109935454Microwave directly should probably destroy them immediately (think of those videos of sparking CDs in microwaves), but it's not like I ever tried it. If you put them in a bowl of water and then into the microwave I think it's far more dubious, the water may absorb most of the energy and at most you will heat it to a boil. That means exposing the SSD to 100C temperature, which I don't think would be immediately fatal or anything, components are exposed to much higher temperatures (for a short time) while being soldered and 100C is the sort of temperature badly cooled electronics might even reach during operation and they don't die immediately or anything. If you truly need to destroy them just physically damage the NAND chips themselves, break them to bits with a hammer or something, why would you even think about something as silly and round-about as microwaving SSDs in a bowl of water? Just fucking smash the thing.
>>109935454You should have encrypted (using strong encryption) your ssd before using it, that way when powered off it would simply appear as unformatted drive and even trying to recover files would yeald no results.

>>109935454Just use Secure Erase
in a bowl of water? never
I also watched Mr. Robot everyone! I'm such a hacker!
>>109935454One must sell his organs to buy a SSD and you want to destroy yours?Just wipe them then fill them again with random data so it's impossible to restore your previous data. You can use a freeware called Eraser, CCleaner also has this option. Then sell them.
>>109935454>inb4 this retard actually does it and destroys his microwave
>>109935454that wouldn't really do anything other than boil the components, unpowered. you may cause erosion of traces for water that gets under chips. otherwise if you dry it off real good it's probably fine. microwaves may also destroy the inside of the chips at some point if they are not protected by the jacket of water in the bowl.
>>109935454Literally just let them sit overnight in a freezer.Same with HDD on a magnet over night.
>>109935454Just use secure erase via partedmagic or w/e. What is wrong with you?

Only an professional shredder will give you what you want in record time >>109935480.https://the-shredder-warehouse.com/collections/ssd-hard-drive-shreddersPunching holes in traditional HDD does not guarantee some of it can't be read either.
