I think AI should be paced but not because it is dangerous or any of that nonsense but to give humans enough time to adapt
It took anwhile for the internet to catch on, which gave people enough time to adjust. You could connect to servers in the 80s but this was just for tech nerds and corporations. The internet took off in the 90s but even then it wasnt absolutely necessary, corporations were still using typewriters in the early 90s. Having a computer and knowing how to use the internet wasnt really required until the late 2000's. The problem with AI is they're trying to force it down everyone's throats within a few years which is why people are so angry or delusional about it.
>>109949222No the problem with AI is that they're overselling the importance of its utility by using PR stunts like hacking and bruteforcing math proofs. When at the workplace it's mostly used as a textual autocomplete bot somewhat useful in coding because coding involves writing a lot of text.
>/v/tard twitternigger reposting his shit tweet>now with /g/ flavorepic
the problem with AI is that it’s putting downward pressure on my ability to negotiate my next raise
>>109949361It's because he's FUMING and SEETHING that he can't farm Elonbux ("Original Content Rewards") from /g/ itself. Only Xitterslave engagement gives him buxhttps://x.com/bee_fumo/status/2104641304101593324
>>109949222>>109949236>>109949394The problem with "AI" is that the money will run out before anyone takes in so much as 1% of the required revenue to sustain it.
>>109949151my oomfie
>>109949236i genuinely find the tech cool as hell but even i've been racking my brain trying to figure out what to even use it for in my private life, especially agents. i really feel like it's meant for the completely tech illiterate giga retards because every demo is like "oh my god it can change a setting on your computer this is incredible" and other things that would require you to tardwrangle the clanker for longer than it would've taken a tech literate person to simply do it themselves
>>109949151Adapt to what? If theories are right almost all jobs will be done by an AI. So there is no other field that will be able to give people jobs.
>>109950450why do you think moronic boomer investors are throwing so much money at it? They never understood or liked using computers or the internet, just like the endless sea of normalniggers and zoomshits, anything that gets rid of that interaction is magic to them
>>109949151Nah, it’s actually good to accelerate at super fast speed. Adoption is lagging behind research by a lot, so by the time people get rid of the last programmer or graphic designer we will have robots that can do anything. The dumb aaa excuses of “you should have went to X field” will not work and we will see civilisation all backlash to either AI or the people controlling it trying to cull the unemployed masses. UBI or redistribution will be done by force because we will have everyone worried about their jobs before elites figure out how to get rid of us without collapsing the supply chain that props up the elites.
>>109950637>or redistributionYeah I'm sure rich people is just going to redistribute their money with the masses of jobless people that they don't need.
>>109950754"Rich" people these days barely hold any liquid cash. Their fortunes are tied to hypotheticals like stocks and evaluations. If they need cash they borrow it from banks.
>>109950828They own everything that is important. Anyway, a society where 80% of people don't have a job, something to give meaning to their lives and just live from UBI that will only buy you the necessary things for a regular life, not being able to prosper with your effort, I don't think will work.
>>109950828Oh yeah sure anon, just let me restrict the frontier models to our partners while you get jack shit. But their money is absolutely worthless
I think eceleb threads are not technology and should be deleted.
>dedotated fwed
>>109949151fuck that, I want 1000 years of progress in 1 year NOW. I don't want to have to work for money ever again.
>>109950450AI is good for code but even then you have to tard wrangle it like you said.I find AI most effective when I'm programming something I know 100% how to do manually and AI is just a time saver. Any time it goes off course I'm able to know exactly what to tell it steer back on course.I don't believe the hype that AI will allow non-programmers to take programmer jobs because every time I try to get AI to write code for something I don't understand it just feels like pulling a lever on a slot machine. Sometimes the result is good, sometimes it's terrible and I just have to keep sitting there helplessly pulling the lever and praying while it churns through tokens. It's not exactly fun, I find it stressful actually.
>>109950908Fuck it, just go to any grocery store, it's all filled with GMO pesticeded veggies that taste like water, the dairy has growth hormones, god knows what they feed chickens pigs and cows to get them as fat as possible. The rest is sugars, seed oil trans fats, chemicals and poison. I know what real produce straight from the ground tastes like. We need to revert to that. Instead of this bullshit amerimutt mentality of having a trimmed lawn backyard, convert that space into greenhouses, depopulate urban centres which are unaffordable anyway and reduce car dependance to absolute minimum. It's fucking insane and unnatural to be stuck in traffic jams burning fossil fuels when internet is a thing and most of that white color bullshit jobs can and should be automated. Or done via zoom
>>109950450Its interactive documentation. In case you never did any programming, finding out stuff in documentation used to be an absolute nightmare. Especially if you only had a vague idea what you were looking for.Usually it was easier to just rely on forum posts or blogs or literally anything else other than the official source of information. Now you can just ask AI 'how make button background image Qt' and it will tell you everything relevant and more.
>>109951039>I don't want to have to work for money ever again.Have fun being poor.
>>109951084thats the idea
>>109951084you'll be poor too.
>>109951084>poorfags live like kings with a roboharem>retards still worrying about status gamesYou will own everything, and you will be miserable.
>>109951224meanwhile what's happening rn :>poorfags can't even grasp what's coming >investors won't share the money generated by robots to you inb4 the government will force them to. First point : lol, lmao. Second point : the economy is driven by greed, if no profit can be made nobody will invest in robotics. The robot factories where the robot assembles themselves that you are coming need investment funds to build them. Investors will get extra rich.>t. I'm literally a robotics PhD working for a robotics ODM in west China You can't imagine the number of really famous billionaires from SF I'm seeing nowadays (cause if you think US robots are made in the US you are delusional). Anyway, from my POV there's almost 0 chances that those people will share anything with you, but maybe I'm wrong
>>109951260Look, I know these things are hard, but anon presented a simple hypothetical where the good singularity happened. You don't need to tell me that actually, you did eat breakfast, because that's not the topic of discussion.
>>109951260What are they going to share exactly anyway? Even if Musks trillion were real it's a spit in the bucket compared to 40 trillion debt irresponsible morons racked up by yoloing through life living above their means. 80% of which are women.
>>109951260all we need is one future quintillionaire to think keeping us alive is amusing.
>>109951320I'm telling you what's actually happening you daydreaming mongoloid, they don't give a fuck about you >>109951336No they don't see it that way, "good singularity believers" believe that somehow a rich guy will pay for the production of 5 or 10 robots and that the industrial output of said robot will be shared amongst the people. Meanwhile irl what's happening is : the rich guys do pay for the making of said robots, but they pocket 100% of the returns . They are just delusional faggots. Of course I wish I wasn't telling the truth
>>109951398>still doesn't understand how hypotheticals workk
>>109951381>yes bro I prefer participating in the hunger games than working of course go back
>>109951260>he thinks capitalism will last in the age of ASI>he thinks humans will have controlhow deluded are you?
>>109949222All the data that is being output to you literally already existed. You sucked at finding/solving it before and you'll suck at it now too.
>>109951421I'm old enough to remember having to go to library and reading a book if you wanted to learn something.
>>109951410I'm just saying your hypothetical isn't happening and probably won't happen is that so hard to understand ? Or are you autistic to the point that if I don't roleplay with your fantasyland dreams you'll have a melty ? You also want me to call you madam ? faggot go get a job
>>109951438Yeah well all the real information is published on the web first these days.
>>109949151I dont care about twitter or omarchu
>>109951420maybe you are right, but so far the only thing I'm witnessing is Infinite greed. But then if you believe in the "human won't be in control" scenario, why wouldn't they get removed instead of cocooned in a perfect society where they don't need to work ? Very resource intensive and wasteful from an AI perspective
>>109951474Indeed, I believe it's utopia or extinction that's coming.A super intelligent computer is still a computer, if its properly trained with a goal to create a utopia, it will, if not then we're done. I'm okay with that.
>>109950908>wageslaving gives people meaning in their livesHow are we even the same species? You are no different a worker ant
>>109951093That is not good>>109951208I know! we can't be crabs in a bucket right now
>>109951055learn 2 prompt faggot
>>109949236>When at the workplace it's mostly used as a textual autocomplete bot somewhat useful in coding because coding involves writing a lot of text. Not fucking true, it has replaced coding, I can say, almost entirely. Other fields seem to catch up to.
>>109950450>>109951079None of you retards did any serious programming, let's be honest
