But somehow all that bad luck paid off because I built my first good computer last year on black friday. My at the time splurge crazy expensive overkill ram was 200 dollars. Almost lost it when the mail delivered it to the wrong house. Got my 5080 for 900 dollars. A week after I finished my build the apocalypse hit and my ram was now 400 dollars. I checked recently and it now costs as much as I paid for my GPU. My total build cost was around 2500 and I thought it was insanely over speced. Now that same build would be almost 6k. Sure it doesn't make up for the rest but I'll never get over how I finally managed to time one thing right in my life. Best of luck to the rest of you waitfags, I waited 12 years and it sucked. Hopefully things can get reasonable again for you soon.

What I'm concerned about isn't so much "prices are high right now" but rather prices stay high when there's no justification for it because "consumers are used to paying a premium now for things that were once affordable, how does it benefit us to lower prices when they're already willing to pay what we're asking".
