Finally got my dream CD player. Fucking rocks!

Oh look, it's a reddit zoomer hipster thread.

Late millennial, actually
>>

Same thing. If you were born before being cognizant of the birth of the internet, you might as well be a toddler.

How old are you?
>>
I mean, I’m 22 and I grew up with physical media, so does that really make me a hipster?

Very nice, now you just need an RC430 to go with it.
I like using my CD73, but my CD84 sounds better.
>>
I listen to all my music on wired iphone ear buds.
>>
>>109959051
RC430 is cool, just not a priority for me now.
Gotta get my 5220 rebuilt
>>
>>109957020
Looks pretty cool

Thanks, anon!
It’s a first gen cd player, so it’s got the older 14-bit Phillips DAC. It has a warmer sound, which pairs well with my JBLs
>>
>>109957020
Nice. Idk about CDs but I really want a laserdisc player.
>>
>40 years old
can you get replacement lasers for these?
they can't have long left surely
>>
>>109960278
You can. But these old Phillips CDM-0 and CDM-1 mechanisms are some of the most reliable and durable ever made. I’m sure mine will last me a very long time if I take care of it.
