Sometimes I see videos about specific lore on the internet and it sometimes it involves how 4chan users somehow dox a certain account, what I’m asking about how is it possible to doxx someone who has shared nothing with anyone and uses a anonymous website like 4chan

I have a landline phone, a dumb fridge and a garden stick for a toothbrush, which actually makes me the most unique identifiable person on the planet.

>how is it possible to doxx someone who has shared nothing with anyone

It isn't. Except 'shared nothing with anyone' is extremely rare. When you visit this website, it's operator and probably also the janitors can see your IP. From that they know roughly where you are located in the world (down to the nearest city, usually). If you post on a board with flags, your country is public. As well as your IP, your browser leaks a metric ton of information about it's configuration. Screen resolution, installed extensions, agent strings. There's enough variance in this information that it is often enough to identify and track an individual as they roam the web.

And then there's WHAT you post, you almost always give away little tidbits of information about yourself and the risk increases over time. Even just the way you type, words you choose to use, are means to profile you. Do you spell color or colour? Do you use terms only a zoomer or boomer would know?

True anonymity is very difficult to maintain, and requires maintaining the most critical view of engagement with the internet in any form.

i've heard about this in the past, it's bullshit that this is a thing. honestly, i'm surprised it's not abused to hell, it doesn't seem like this would take a genius to figure out
>>109959998
i didnt get this, where do you live, anon?

Most people who get doxxed on 4chan revealed their true identities on Discord and that's how it happened. I post in a general on /sp/ where I have posted childhood photos of myself and YouTube videos under my real name, and nothing has ever happened because nobody there is actually interested in tracking me down. It's only the crazy ones who get identified, and they're crazy enough that they'll have online friends elsewhere and get doxxed there instead.

Generally speaking, your Internet provider will obviously have all your details because you pay them for your Internet connection, and they will provide those details to the government if you are suspected of a crime. The 4chan staff can see your IP address, but random posters have no way of doing this.

It's intentional by design. Copyright "law" exists as a weapon for corporations to wield against you, this includes compulsory divulgence of your personal information. The fact that normal people can use it to "dox" someone is entirely incidental
>>
>>109959879
Your personal info is out there already. The person who doxes just collects the drops like rainwater.

>what I’m asking about how is it possible to doxx someone who has shared nothing with anyone and uses a anonymous website like 4chan
well if he got doxxed, then he DID share something, didn't he? people are always slipping up and leaving small details in their posts that can connect you with other posts, and that can lead down a trail of posts that eventually leads to one that has your full identity

NSA colludes with third parties and often foreign governments who safespot outside of us jurisdiction and pass information around. There's an evangelical south Korean doxxing ring, Israeli IDF police + pltr crowd.

Is you play in a peer to peer game, the game will do something called "firewall holling" or something like that. You will first send a message to a server, and then the server will just give you the IP to another player, so you can bypass your firewall and connect to them. The problem is that if the player is monitoring his router, he can see who he connected to. And if it is a streamer, he can send a lot off bullshit request later on to that IP, his router will have a lot of requests to ignore, and it will make his network slower, and it can complicate that streamers lifestyle.

You start by pissing somebody off, usually a farmer or basedteen, and there's no such thing as "undoxxable."
