It just baffles me that Ubuntu had its own DE that people actually liked, it had issues sure but it was THEIRS, and they abandoned it in favor of the single worst DE on the planet. Ubuntu is the epitome of wasted potential, a solid OS with a great design philosophy and a strong initial outing and all of it was squandered by people who simply lacked willpower. Calamares partition selector is broken and doesn't let you create a LVM-on-LUKS encrypted partition setup. (This has been a solved problem on Debian and Fedora's installers for years.) So in order to get that setup working on CachyOS, you have to use the manual command line configuration for Arch but then have your pacman.conf file point to Cachy's repos instead of Arch's when running pacstrap.
