I need to figure out what the screw sizes are on this card:
EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA HYBRID GAMING, 12G-P5-3968-KR, 12GB GDDR6X, iCX3 Technology, ARGB LED, Metal Backplate

The cheapest 4K 240Hz OLED is $616 in this store right now and it's 31.5 inches, 1440p is limited to the 26 inch option. Most of the OLED monitors at 4K seem to also be 31 inches, all of them QD-OLED too.

I always had a habit of placing lights behind my monitor instead of to my side but actually deliberately setting up a bright light behind the screen for bias lighting in a central position is a game changer. Shame about the PPI drop still, not having that 163 PPI even on a 23.8" display makes it feel like I have astigmatism and no glasses on trying to read text.

Just move to a well lit environment, overall. Your eyes will thank you for it.
>>
>>109975151
I don't remember when this started probably after Goyim-19 made zoomers procrastinate for 5 years, but the traditional advice you would be given is always work in a well lit room to not ruin your eyes and reduce eye strain. And don't sit too close to the screen either. Meanwhile all these gamers broke that down and made people forget.

Made this is also the reason why buying a TV-sized screen as your monitor is healthier as well, your eyes accommodate for a longer distance.

That's genuinely a bad financial decision, though, a rundown shitbox that costs 500$ on the scrapyard is a money black hole that won't stop coming in and out of the mechanic, at least buy some reliable old car that has a good rep and that won't make weekly doctor visits.

Is TCL literally the only ones making quantum dot enhanced IPS panels right now? I don't understand how this isn't standard, it makes a 4K IPS-type LCD feel twice as responsive and clear as the phosphor plops other WCG monitors in this class use. Feels like the CSOT HFS panel is one of the only examples of actual LCD engineering going on. Their backlight strobing implementation is also excellent, it seems shitty on these other Mini LEDs.

Because Plasma, like CRT, is impulse driven with natural decay of image between refreshed avoiding the sample-and-hold penalty on motion resolution that OLED and LCDs suffer from unless you run the source material at insane refresh rates or use strobing tech.

none of the solutions on the market do active current balancing. Der3astard said they considered it for the wireview pro 2 but ditched it as they can't tell what will happen. They all measure ampere and in most cases start to beep with an emergency shut down after prolonged time. There are some variations as MSI PSUs can throttle too I think but that's about it.

>>109977446
It has a shitload of information baked in but can get details wrong, especially numbers, so you should allow it to use web search and more specialized web services to pull exact data.
For programming, 64GB models can "oneshot" a simple program offline, with no reference library or search. With external tools and agentic harness setup even a 27B model can plan-code-debug in a loop until the end result meets initial goal.
For more general knowledge, like pop culture references or cooking etc it's all hit or miss. And then there is "creative writing" (ERP) which relies less on "knowledge" and more on "writing quality" which has nothing to do with model size.

1080p mode on 4k panel looks terrible on 32inches and only little bit better on 27, but you get higher refresh for shooters if you can pump the fps

Anyway, however good would game look with dlss5, I wont pick 60fps dlss5 over 120fps without. Because it might look good while you are standing still, but when you try to move, 60fps will just blur every detail and picture quality that cost you half the fps. And add latency on top of it. This is also true today for any "ultra" settings that kill your fps.
>>
>>109980766
IPS with local dimming is decent enough. It gets better blacks, the haloing is a minor problem, and if you are lucky you can also find a monitor that does black frame insertion.

I was hoping my TCL monitor would be the best 4K LCD on the market for the price for the features it packs for 400 euro
>The only qd mini led, in a sea of phosphor snails
>Manufacturers own fast IPS like panel with better motion performance and no flickering of any kind
>two backlight strobing modes that actually work
>Probably the lowest input lag on a 4k LCD on the market right now in both SDR and HDR modes
>widest color gamuts in it's class, color performance is top tier in sRGB clamped, this is probably the best SDR LCD I've seen color wise so far
>strobing, VRR, HDR, and dimming can be used all at once
>user adjustable color balance and temperature and brightness in HDR
>excellent build quality
>no on angle blooming
But
>No usbc port for firmware updates
>locked down firmware
>no fine tuning for the local dimming algorithm, you get dark part brightening which is good and useful but it doesn't fix that you can't change the dimming aggressiveness and behavior
>no HDR EOTF or PQ customization in OSD
>both dimming modes and hdr modes locked down to presets which is a problem because the local dimming crushes blacks and dims shit too much to prevent blooming, which is the main drawback making this display look somewhat flat in HDR mode in mid to high apl, where SDR local dimming can be actually better
>no integer scaling
>Uniformity was somewhat meh on my unit, edge taskbar icons would be noticeably dimmer at an arm's length or more

I still get lingering doubts about whether or not returning the monitor was a good idea, looking at the HKC RGB Mini LED demo and hearing the specs and exclusivity left me disappointed. Their 27" offering sounds like it would be another downgrade in color while brightness stays the same. Dimming zone count matters, even if it's just 1152 to 1196.

To me it just seems like there aren't any options I could have upgraded to from this monitor without other major compromises beyond the HDR experience.

Also, another thing on my mind since the last 30 days is potential price hikes on the 4K Mini LED market. Not sure if KTC or AOC are just fearmongering, but it would have compelled me to keep the TCL even with the PSU whine and bleed.

I remember that my usual idle wattage consumptions (using a Watt meter, only hooked to the PC) were 70w-80w. I've seen it idle at 107w.
Today I switched to a new power strip, and noticed that the watt meter showed a higher idle consumption at 125w-134w, (did not check how much it was drawing off the old strip, but im sure its not the new strip's fault)
Build is 7800X3D, 5070Ti(uv/oc), 850w superflower PSU, 10 fans, 1nvme, 1 SSD, 1 HDD and one random 24' samsung monitor, running at 60fps (I know, I'm waiting for a 27' 4k WOLED to upgrade)

I have no idea how to troubleshoot this, but it's starting to consume me from inside.

Things I already tried include restarting the PC, removing everything but the PC and monitor from the strip, disabling integrated graphics and removing every USB to see if something draws suspicious ammount of power, updating to the latest nvidia driver, plus updating afterburner.

CPU+GPU+rest of system 30+35+15 = 80w
Power meter shows 125w, only with a browser on.
So something is drawing more than 40w
what the fuck?

The problem with Intel is you're going to spend a little extra here and there to get the clock gen and the VRMs that don't suck ass, and that makes the price/perf quickly evaporate.
If the 5600 gets you the perf you want, you can get the cheapest AM4 motherboard and the performance will still be there, so for ultra budget every penny counts, I'd get that and spend the rest on GPU.

>If display tech were the only factor in monitor pricing, you'd have a point. But as the article pointed out, it's not panel glass or display tech that's the issue. It's supporting components like driver ICs, microchips, motherboards, and power modules.

>Then it's also the fact that display manufacturers are beginning to shift their production lines for automotive and commercial contracts. Within the next few years, pretty much every car is going to have some kind of AI-powered smart screen/tablet in it. That need is going to dwarf any need for gaming monitors.

for ultra budget builds the 4500/5500 are still passable as are 12th, 13th & 14th gen i3's. For slightly higher end systems the 5500x3d and 5500F are decent contenders.

Been out of the market for so long, have tons of questions. Currently have a perfectly good 6600 XT and looking to upgrade the CPU cuz I'm still on R5 1600 with 16gb DDR4

>Should I upgrade to AM5 socket? Or get a cpu for AM4?
>If I go to AM5, should I spend big on a motherboard and get a budget CPU? Can't afford good both right now, but maybe later. Is AM5 at end of life?
>Would also need DDR5, what should 2 8gb sticks go for these days?
>If I stay on AM4, should I shell out $350 for the 5800x3D? Would there be any compatibility issues with such a gap between 1st and last gen in the same socket with my 1st gen mobo?
>If I went to AM5, would there be a big enough power draw jump that I'd likely need a new PSU too?
>Also still rocking an old 120gb SSD, how much of a priority should a 1tb modern gen be?

AM5 isn't end of life yet but the jump to it is expensive. If you're on budget you're better off upgrading what you have

>Should I upgrade to AM5 socket? Or get a cpu for AM4?
5800x3d is the same as a 9600x with the 9600x slightly faster in some games and 5800x3d in others
>If I go to AM5, should I spend big on a motherboard and get a budget CPU? Can't afford good both right now, but maybe later. Is AM5 at end of life?
you could get a 9600x. am5 is not end of life with amd supporting it till 2029 at the minimum
>Would also need DDR5, what should 2 8gb sticks go for these days?
16gb ddr5 goes from $200-350 and 32 is $400-800
>If I stay on AM4, should I shell out $350 for the 5800x3D? Would there be any compatibility issues with such a gap between 1st and last gen in the same socket with my 1st gen mobo?
5800x3d is a good buy just update bios on motherboard, there shouldnt be any issues except your mobo being pcie 3 most likely.
>If I went to AM5, would there be a big enough power draw jump that I'd likely need a new PSU too?
not really am5 isnt that much more power hungry than am4
>Also still rocking an old 120gb SSD, how much of a priority should a 1tb modern gen be?
1tb is minimum in this day and age
TLDR:get the 5800x3d
>>
>>109983159
>Currently have a perfectly good 6600 XT
Your CPU shouldn't be all that far from pushing that card to its limit. Any cpu better than a ryzen 2600 will see you largely gpu bottlenecked.
>compatibility issues
your mbo probably won't support pcie 4.0 but other than that it ought to take any modern ryzen cpu as long as you update the bios.
>I'd likely need a new PSU too [moving to am5?]
AM5 is generally more power eficient so unless you move a couple of tiers up in CPU you won't need a bigger psu.
>how much of a priority should a 1tb modern gen be?
Some modern games and applications strongly favor if not outright require a fast nvme drive, if your old drive works though you can probably get by without something new.

I spent more on PC components this year than ever before, but about 80% of my spend was on AI hardware.

Ok, you want to build a pc with secondhand parts. You have about 300 dollar left for a gpu. 1080p monitor.

What do?
>>

>If i were to buy a 4k monitor and downscale my games to 1440p, would that look worse or make the GPU work harder than just getting a 1440p monitor and playing the games in 1440p?
If you just render the games at 1440p internally and output them upscaled to your 4K monitor there will be no difference perfomance-wise than driving a 1440p monitor, but also because of higher pixel density the 1440p image will look sharper/clearer rendered over on a 4K screen despite the non-native resolution or worst the same.
>Not sure if its important but im considering a mini-led, also using a rtx 5070ti
Grab a 4K screen, a lot of non-AAA games can even be driven @ 4K native with that level of GPU horsepower, not to mention the higher resolution has other benefits like viewing 4K video/movies and sharper text for webpages/desktop icon/GUI usage.

I recommend 27" 4K as that reduces the pixel pitch (black distance between pixels) and raises pixel density the most for the sharpest image. You can compensate for a smaller than 32" screen by simply phsyically moving it closer to your field of view but you can't do the opposite to add resolution that isn't there.

if the game is rendered at 1440p and upscaled to 4k by monitor, resulting picture will dont look as good as native 1440p
if the game is rendered at 1440p and then upscaled by gpu to 4k, resulting picture will look better than native 1440, but some artifacts might be visible, this upscaling does bring gpu overhead so there will be slight performance hit compared to native
people chose 1440p over 4k monitor if they have use for high refresh rate for example for competitive gaming, because high refresh modes on 4k monitors (480hz at 1080p) look very bad, while top of the line 1440 will offer you 540hz at native
