Adobe is DONE. Finished. I couldn’t be happier. Fuck that thieving malware company. AI clones are popping up left and right and proprietary software is about to be a thing of the past. You’ll release open source or your source will be forced open.
adobe won't go bankrupt chuddie
>>109986785Those icons are retarded.
>>109986823you're lucky the incel devs didn't name them pauline, linda or nicky
>>109986785does it works yet? no? ok...
>>109986830The names are good and descriptive, it's just the icons that have nothing to do with the apps they're supposed to represent.
>>109986821Even if it dies a slow death, it will die. There’s no longer a reason for it to exist and the industry just needs to realize. Not for PDFs, not for photo editing, not for video editing, not for motion graphics, not for vector. They’re cooked. That’s what they get for charging me hundreds of dollars to cancel my subscription after i’d been a loyal customer for years. That’s what they get for putting Cloud Helper back after I delete it 1000 times and running background processes I don’t want and can’t block. That’s what they get for being parasitic and basically saying to people fuck you, what are you gonna do, use gimp?
>>109986785>Adobe is DONE. Finished. That's what people said when Affinity was hyped. Besides there are like 10 other softwares out there called "Photocraft" and many other "adobe killer" vibecoded projects.>Status: PhotoCraft is in early alpha, and we want to be straight about where it stands: much of Photoshop's feature surface exists in some form, but it is not yet a Photoshop replacement for daily professional workYes, surely this barebones vibecoded weekend project will put out Adobe from business. Great post /g/
>>109986841Does on my machine.
>>109986863The point is there is a trend of clones popping up. It’s very early but someone will nail it. It’s happening to games too. All the games are now being decompiled at a fast rate and being ported to PC for free with tons of QoL improvements and customizations. We’re entering a new era>affinity was hyped I’ve tried to use that crap but honestly someone just needs to implement 90% photoshop features with the tools in the same spot, bound to the same hotkeys that work identically.
>>109986821>chuddiewhat does this even mean at this point lol
>>109986863if it's open sourced and open for AI commits then it can succed
>>109986785sorry bud ill keep paying for it.
>>109986924It was always nonesense spewed by trannies from leftypol
>GIGA AI sloppa icons Yeah no fuck that
>>109986823they look nice, unlike modern garbage
>>109986785>using AI to clone software instead of just using AI to make the imagethey're so close...
Do any of these clones even have any actual devs behind them or are they all just random vibesloppers who all believe they can make a Photoshop killer over a single weekend by telling Claude to do everything for them?
>>109986903I use Patchy. Can't compare it to Photoshop though because I haven't used Photoshop for like a decade.
>>109986785Consult picrel.>>109987003The latter, obviously.
>>109987003I hate software patents but fake ai has changed my mind and I hope adobe rapes all these fucks in court.
>>109986785>PhotocraftI downloaded it and I'm trying it right now. Interesting, thanks for the info. (It works on Windows 7 by the way but it needs VxKex.)It's not yet on par with Photoshop CS2 though, and some missing settings are frustrating, but it's definitely something to keep an eye on.
>>109986785>I couldn’t be happier.Me too. Adobe is just like Microsoft, a bunch of retarded jeets shitting their diarrhea on something that used to be good, and they want you to pay a subscription to use it. Modern Photoshop is to old Photoshop what Win11 is to old Windows, a pile of shit they should be ashamed of. Fuck them.
>>109986858>there's no reason for .pdf files to existAI jeets really are something elseI really, REALLY hope you're a shill and just write whatever gets you paid, otherwise you need your brain examined nigga>That’s what they get for charging me hundreds of dollars to cancel my subscription after i’d been a loyal customer for yearsjust get DaVinci and Blender? you also do realize that a lot of the training that these AI's use for editing probably comes from Adobe's data harvesting?
>>109987510You just pulled a quote out of thin air. I didn’t say pdfs shouldn’t exist nor did I imply it. >>109987445It’s only a matter of time before windows is reverse engineered and becomes open sourced and fully customizable. Windows compatibility with no price tag or spookware
using photopea felt bro tier with a slight greedy twistI could do elaborate edits that took me long, but the thing was there right at the end>you wanna export? disable adblockkind of fair for free2use ngl
>>109986903>>109986926And you retards think a fucking vibe coded opensource shit will be "industry standard" lmao.We have seen this before many times. GIMP, Openoffice, FreeCAD, Linux itself. Vibe coding and xhitter hype won't change shit either. Especially since Phototshop is now lightyears ahead with AI implementation.
>>109987619I think you underestimate the contempt literally everyone has for adobe and the force multiplier potential of current llms
>>109986785There's also a Sketchup clone that can integrate with Blender. Probably will be lots of these vibe coded clones of popular software.
>>109986841Looked into it, the UI is clean and amateurs can understand with just a basic tutorial. It does have its own encoders with each software so no nonsense 3rd party software that breaks. Works as expected but unfortunately patent ideas like photoshop’s “dragging and snapping” isn’t there so you’re left with ruler handle. Also, you can’t export into license files.Still pretty good for work related projects.
>>109987598yep Photopea is based
>>109986785There's nothing funnier than nobody from nowhere, with their nothing software, claiming they're going to destroy the incumbent.Freetards, for example, have been claiming they're going to destroy Windows for the better part of half a century. How's that going? Nowhere, that's where - it's why you pretend your toy telephone, your IoT lightbulb, your AI bots vacuuming up training data, or muh webserver VM that vomits out default.html twice a year is a "computer".
>>109986924it's just a generic insult, that is someone someone says to someone they don't like but has no specific meaning
>>109987619i remember when photoshop implemented content-aware infill similar to gimp's resynthesizer plugin had for years back with i think it was cs5, and how photoshop people thought it was amazing, being able to select objects and have them magically erased.they don't even know what competitors have, they just assume abobe is the best
>>109988259I know what competitors have. Adobe products are miles ahead everyone excluding DaVinci Resolve probably
I hope AI wins in the end. Fuck Adobe.
why would anyone need an Adobe alternative just get grok to make you a picture, who wants to dick around for hours clicking in some "application"
>>109986785It's non-free and not open-source. Another worthless project for the trash can.https://github.com/storytold/artcraft/blob/main/LICENSE.md
>>109986785>written in RustNo.
>>109986823they just stole them from o'reilly book covers
>>109986821Only trannies use this Linux garbage
>>109986785>AI clones are popping up left and right and proprietary software is about to be a thing of the past. You’ll release open source or your source will be forced open.Moron. This is just the final nail in the coffin for own-forever commercial software. Everything will be a SaaS running in the cloud now.
>>109988818retarded namefags should kill themselves like (You)
Why is Rust the language of choice for AI? Something to do with the safety it enforces/demands that makes it less error prone when generating/validating?
>>109986823Tbf they're not much stupider than Adobe's icons, where every app has given the minimalism treatment to such a degree you can barely tell which app is which anymore.I welcome a little bit of actual design to an icon. I'm sick of minimalism.
>>109988503>https://github.com/storytold/artcraft/blob/main/LICENSE.mdJust take the code, run it through an LLM and continue on the race to the bottom where no one earns any money with any non-cloud software ever again.
>>109988493not everything grok will allow you to edit in image
>>109988493Most graphic designers I know just use Canva AI tools.
I bet 50 bucks that Adobe will have an everything app ready by 2030.
>>109987510inkscape can open and edit PDFs just fine, unless there was sone retarded illustrator flag that doesn't to anything visible to the document other than fuck with other editorsAnd i use krita for images and sometimes git because fuck adobe (and fuck gimp and gtk while we're at it)
>>109986785>macOS · Windows · Webno linux trashware>muh but we can't maintain repos for all distrosit's 2026 flatpaks and appimages just work
>>109989023Adobe can't make billions of dollars from the pedo market alone
>>109986823adobe icons are even worse
>>109986785The PhotoCraft logo is based, no matter how shit this company is.
>>109986785Open source shit has always existed. They won't kill Shitdobe, but people who have more than half a brain don't care because they learned how to use other software years ago.
>>109989369They aren't pretty, but you can tell what they are at a glance.
>>109986785Sounds like some vibe coded programs that repackage already existing programs. Any idiot can repack an existing foss foundation into their own repo. But OP, you faggot as always, you are forgetting what keeps Adobe on top, and that is copyrighted functions and features for their flagship programs that no one else is allowed to replicate and ship. They will sue competition to bankruptcy abd laugh at cheap imitations.
>>>/g/ is full of retarded Mouth breathers>Why can't AI be used for creating usefully things like an adobe clone> No, I don't want that. How many times are you guys going to move the goalpost?Up next:> AI can't kill me.> Start using GPT 8 hack what ever airplane/taxi you go into run that sucker into a wall or the ocean.
>>109989628ok
>>109989455Like gimp right?
>>109987619Photoshop is vibe coded too, so there's no guarantee that someone else can't vibe code something better. It's not like it takes much either, since Photoshop has nasty subscription cost.
>>109989628/g/ is not one consistent person
>>109986785Can it even be used to create its own icon?
>>109986785based vibeGODS creating stuff
>>109989516>Defending copyrightHow's that boot taste?
People spend dozens and sometimes hundreds of hours on individual projects inside these programs. Thousands if it's a major project. Why would they trust vibe slop for this?I'd love Adobe to be murdered, but I can't see this working when reliability and stability is so important.
>>109987619>Linux itselfLinux literally is industry standard for virtually everything, aside from desktop PCs.Over the last 30 years, open source tools have become the standard in probably most categories of software tools. When's the last time you've seen anyone pay for a proprietary web browser, a decompression program, a music or video player, a file manager, a PlayStation emulator, an SSH client, a web server?
>>109988832You just have to send your AI a video and screenshots of whatever SaaS you are using and ask it to create a local copy lolThe only thing that can stop that is, if anthropic / OpenAI / Google / etc explicit prohibits reverse engineering stuff, but even if that happens, Chinese models will catch up and they won't have any limits or guardrails
>>109987598export works fine with adblocker. problem is it runs on fucking browser so it doesnt use gpu
Reminder that Adobe is $80 a month now
>not animateCC alternative
>>109986785It's just a coincidence this comes out after AI has become very good at reverse engineering software.
>>109989713>aside from desktop PCs.KEK that's the point
>>109986858Professionals are still paying for adobe suites. They're not using free alternatives. The people who use free alternatives weren't paying for adobe products in the first place.
if i wanted a dogshit version of photoshop i'd use GIMP, thanks
>>109989369I actually really liked this idea. They kind of just realized that they have a ton of programs and made their own version of the periodic table, it felt like it gave the suite a lot of personality at the time. And then they gave up on trying anything new ever again and even added icons that don't have any letters because fuck consistency so fuck them
>>109989713>open source tools have become the standard in probably most categories of software toolsdelulu
