okaay? how is that important?

Nothing important, go to sleep midwit

i think they meant superconductor.

Virtually all semiconductors operate at room temperature. This is like reinventing the bike.

I predict that H2O is a room temperature superconductor. Now proceed to laud me for my brave and stunning hypothesis.

>it has been hiding in plain sight
really the only thing the AI is good for
it's not going to come up with any novel ideas, instead it simply tells us things we already can find ourselves or composes the information in a different way for us

it literally came up with the other material dumb tranny

Room temperature semiconductors are going to revolutionize the tech industry like how irrigation revolutionized sub-Saharan agriculture.

semiconductors != superconductors you stupid fuck

It took hundreds years to find the quadratic formula. Ai would have found it in two days.

>Magnetic semiconductor
Classically semiconductors control how much current flows in a circuit, basically switching 2 states: high resistance - low resistance. Those things (magnetic semiconductors) pretend to also control magnetic properties of the gate which of course would let you store/read extra quantities of memory by some sort of method (which doesn't exist yet since the material is in diapers). Still good post, OP>>109990698

>>109991048
>AI could find thing we told it about in 2 days
Wow only 2 days to find the thing you told it about?
Epic

Imagine if this is what String Theory has been distracting from all these years?

>90+ Opus 5.5 agents
I wonder how much that cost over the course of the 3 days. And how it worked/what its harness was.
>>
>>109991048
Oh please some illiterate hick from a 100 years ago wouldn't even be able to formulate the question needed to prompt the AI for it.
>>
>>109990698
obvious scam
>>

So it shifted through papers that they couldn't be bothered to read to find out someone had already identified something 30 years ago? Wow such discovery

you can sort electrons by spin by simply using a magnetic field thats how the spin was discovered in the first place....
also room temperature semiconductor is nonsense.

we've been up to our eyeballs in theories since the enlightenment, it's worth jack shit

Quantum computer takes big energy make very cold to run. Colder than the surface of the Moon. Big and bulky. Too big.

New material make it able to run in home. Now everyone have quantum computer
>>
>>109994030
He said semiconductors not superconductors. We already have semiconductors that work at room temperature and have for decades.
>>
>>109994086
it says magnetic semiconductor, not electric semiconductor
>>
>>109994086
So why don't we have portable quantum computers then checkmate
>>
>all these people think it's talking about electrical semiconductors or superconductors
more like room-temperature IQ itt
>>
>>109994122
Should be focusing more on ternary computing DESU.
>>
>>109994118
electromagnetism is same shit
>>
>>109994194
they're related but they aren't the same thing, like how steel is an excellent magnetic conductor while aluminium isn't, even though they're both excellent electrical conductors
>>
>>109991048
>AI took 2 days to find a thing that's in its training data
>>
>>109991226
Spin control allows for scaling past the current silicon oxide transistor size limitations. Moore's law is back if true
>>
>>109991973
>I wonder how much that cost over the course of the 3 days
They'll never say.
>>
>>109991973
Not that much imo, i run like a dozen agents for work all the time and they barely scratch two digit M token usage
>>
>>109990698
They'll be saying that AI is about to enable time travel soon. And some people will believe them.
>>
>>109990698
>material exists since 1999
OK where's the experiment results then?
>>
>SI invented the room temp superconductor scam
>>
how about carbon nanotubes for superconductivity?
>>
>>109995398
>>109995423
are you misreading the article on purpose?
>>
>>109994415
Probably thousands
>>
>>109990698
Vibegods won!
>>
>>109994641
It needs two materials. One was synthesized 30 years ago. Second is theoretical and doesn't exist.
They'll have to try and synthesize the other material and test it and then engineer it all. At best it will take 10 years for the tech to be real.
>>
>>109995892
That is not what it says. There are two independent candidates, one is a mixed metal oxide and the other is a mixed cyanide salt.

>>109994641
Nobody ever grew a pure anhydrous single crystal. They say that in the blog. The residual water disrupts the crystal structure which leaves a residual magnetic moment and renders the material useless for spintronics. The material itself is probably extremely hazardous (not only does it have 6 cyanide ligands but it is also Cr(6+) aka super carcinogenic and tightly regulated) so there was little interest in it besides the previous synthetic report. Now that there is more reason to investigate it you can expect to see an academic lab prepare single crystals of it in the next year. It shouldn't be any more difficult to prepare than the lead perovskites, but there needs to be a lab with the initiative and regulatory permission to do the chemistry.

The mixed metal oxide has never been made and no one has a clue how to make those kinds of materials yet.

>>109996464
They didn't lie though. They said that in the blog post. They predict that the anhydrous crystalline form would have the desired magnetic properties using hybrid DFT. Claude can already orchestrate, debug, and interpret DFT calculations so this doesn't seem very surprising since the authors clearly knew what they were looking for. These kinds of ab initio material design papers have been popular for at least a decade now. The hard work has always been to synthesize, isolate, and characterize the material, then integrate it into a device.
