does anyone here vibecode alternatives to existing software just to make them simple, less bloated, and tailored to your own needs?
for example i made a music streaming app via tailscale so I can send high quality music to my phone mostly to workout, I could've used jellyfin or plex (although I think they want you to pay for plex?) but coding my own was a short side project and it works the way I want it

I think your prediction is close but it's not quite what I think. I think the flooding of vibe coded garbage is going to raise the bar for quality tremendously. Anybody making low quality slop with AI or without AI is going to suffer badly in the long run. I think people will start being more picky and more demanding due to the huge influx of "content". I don't think AI is the problem here just lazy and uncreative people trying to take advantage of the system long after it's been milked dry.

I don't believe this for a second. 6.1 is clearly leaps and miles above 6, from some testing. It rarely ever fucks up a large task, this is another model they had internally and just released lowkey.
>>

The rumor was that this was going to be named "Astra Minor" so it was their "mini" model of their big model like the o series days. Clearly they fucked up. I really think they should've just released Sol 6 as Terra 6 and kept the pricing. They got caught off guard by Anthropic unfucking their smaller models and Opus 5.5 being that good.

Currently working on a singleplayer optimised version of the Arma 3 mod Antistasi. For those unfamiliar it's a very complex and large scale dynamic campaign primarily meant for MP play. Arma 3's vanilla save system is not able to handle missions like that and the system that exists is basically a persistent save system that on records higher level information. For example, you can't just save in the middle of a battle and then resume and be back where you were in the battle, which is not good for singleplayer. I'm vibing a new save engine which will allow the player to save and quit at any time and the current state will be recreated almost exact. I.e. you're in a defence battle in a city and you've lost 4 squad members and destroyed 1 of 2 enemy tanks and there's an enemy mortar position that's fired 4 rounds at you and has another 16 left, those exact states will be carried over upon resuming. I'm using Luna 6 Extra High with skills and custom tooling for most of the work because I'm poorfagging it on a plus plan. Each task now takes roughly 12 hours but it is actually getting there. I plan to later add in other game modes and expand it with proper insurgent gameplay mechanics like IEDs, VBIEDs and drone warfare. I don't know if I'll be able to release it publicly but I plan on having lots of fun with it.

>>109993573
Skills are a scam.
Even if you insisted on using Luna, which I would recommend against, it would be only after a better models days a very detailed implementation plan.
You get a lot of 6.1 usage even on Plus. I don't know how complicated doing what you are doing really is, but I feel like if you were using 6.1 you would have had finished by now and still have more weekly usage to go.
>>
>>109993621
Skills are useful, midwit
>>
>>109993621
I tried using Sol 6.1 for the work but it burns through my usage very quickly. I've been using Sol 6.1 High for review and Luna for the dirty work, which has been the only way I've managed to achieve near 24/7 operation within the plus plan usage limits. It's working across a lot of files and interconnected systems and automatically running tests within live Arma missions. I've designed it to be very hands off. Why are skills a scam?
>>

I think skills are useful for repeated tasks where you can save some tokens and/or bumbling around by having a how-to Markdown-file guide wrapped up in a bow

Cat out of bag.
GLM 5.3 is better than Opus 4.8 than decomp/RE already, approaches Opus 5, only clearly superseded by 5.5/Fable.

You can run it abliterated on a $3/hr GPU instance.
GLM 5.4 + is going to continue this capability creep.

This is going to be (already is/emerging center stage) the first major transcendental paradigm shift brought upon the world by LLM Agents.
All software is open source, and all software can be mixed and matched and rewritten and customized to high heaven ad infinitum.
Already, right now, intermediate users can entirely reverse engineer **any software ** they have the local binaries and dependency files for, and setup a pipeline to do it systematically on repeat with few tweaks.

Lots of people have no idea what this is going to mean and do, and in very short order of time.
>>
>>109994159
They will probably lock the ability behind security research and etc. I am trying to get my decomps done ASAP before it happens but I am fearing I won't make it since it is a pretty big executable. I'm doing a recreation anyways so as long as I get it the file decompiled and done at some point, I think I can just point them to that file and just say use that as a source of truth for what I want to do.

>With the help of LLMs, we discovered an undocumented debug path that bypasses the chip's fixed-function Wi-Fi modem. This gives software access to raw radio samples, called I/Q samples, from the built-in receiver. ESP-SDR captures short bursts of these samples and sends them to your computer over USB or UART for analysis. It can also compute spectra on-device, including continuous RF capture on selected chips.

>The diagram shows the hardware's receive and transmit paths; this firmware currently implements reception only.

Tldr LLMs recently discovered undocumented functionality that lets cheap and ubiquitous esp32 family chips transmit arbitrary waveforms. That means SDR and WiFi/Bluetooth jamming on a $5 chip. These chips have been around for a decade now and nobody figured it out until LLMs reverse engineered a propietary binary blob

It has "AI" in betweening so as long as you have two keyframes, it should be able to solve between them and give you a coherent animation. For example, a keyframe of standing and one of sitting.

What we need now is for browsers to have a special option for devs to have a save option that works off git. So if someone is playing a game the dev can just add an HTML tag that gives the user the option to "save" which is just moving it from cache to a saved folder for games, and updates are done via git diff. Then URLs can just check if the user has the game saved yet instead of downloading everything every single time unless it's cached.

most of the features like i said are "brand new" or behind compat flags on some platforms too and most other browsers don't support them at all forcing most websites to be conservative to cater to most visitors
>>
>>109994823
three.js automatically gets picked by most LLMs when you tell them to make a game without specifying what to use, since it's what the labs trained on the most. It's not a sign that the person specifically prompted it to use three.js.

>My token spend for all of the porting work was ~136.3 billion total tokens, including ~130.6 billion cached input read tokens, ~4.2 billion cached input write tokens, ~900 million fresh input tokens, and ~600 million output tokens. The monetary bill for all those tokens came to ~$120,000.

>My city builder game, Microlandia[1], runs on Deno. The game's graphics and UI is a Three.js/React app, but the guts of the game are in a "sidecar" process that is a `deno compile` typescript executable.
>On Mac, there's a Tauri shell that runs both client and server, and for Linux and Windows we use Electron, (Tauri proved to be quite problematic except when in macOS)
>Why on earth did I choose this cursed stack instead of a "proper" game engine? Well,
>Turns out developing the simulation in typescript with a performant sqlite driver hot reloads very fast and with a light code editor and my browser open on a second window I see the stuff updating live as I make it.
>Deno has a good VSCode extension with test helpers and a fast language server. WebGPU is good enough for me to write any cool shader I can think of and I don't miss any capability of a game engine.
>More importantly, not using Unity/Unreal brought back to me the joy of game development that I had lost due to and horrendous UI-driven workflow that takes me back to Macromedia Flash (yes, I am that old). Oh, and the licensing.
>And I know I could switch to Bun with small changes in code but Deno has never got in my way. Maybe it's because I avoid using libraries at all costs (and don't need much).
>Also, Typescript/React is such an amazing language for building a complex tycoon/simulation type of game that deals with a lot of data and displays it. Anyone who's worked on Unity knows it's the dark ages for UI over there.
>I'm unsure if i'll port the game to Deno Desktop anytime soon but if I start a game again I will use this stack again, as my game engine, this time without Electron or Tauri.

hello noob. here's an explanation of the joke.

>For anyone who follows the increasingly strange online culture surrounding frontier AI models, ML4 may sound like the punchline to a joke that started months ago.
>In June, a fictional Mistral model called “Le Chaton Fat” went viral across X and Reddit, complete with fake benchmark charts and increasingly preposterous specifications for a supposedly enormous French model that would leapfrog its American and Chinese competitors. Business Insider reported that the joke spread in June, with some versions claiming the nonexistent model contained more than 30 trillion parameters and others advertising such capabilities as “1,000 meows per second.” Mistral CEO Arthur Mensch eventually joined in, writing on X, “It’s actually le gros chaton.”
>Beneath the shitposting was a real expectation that Mistral was preparing something much larger. By July, TechCrunch reported on anticipation around a coming large open-weight Mistral model and noted that Mensch and Mistral investor Marc Andreessen had amplified the Le Chaton Fat jokes.
>Now Mistral actually has a trillion-parameter model — and it appears the company decided not to let the joke go to waste. Internally, ML4 carries the nickname “Le Chonk,” another play on internet slang for an exceptionally large cat.
>When VentureBeat asked Lample whether ML4 was effectively the model that the Le Chaton Fat meme had anticipated, he said Mistral had enjoyed the meme and suggested ML4 could be viewed as an initial version of the idea, with still larger models to come. Mistral executives said the Le Chonk name deliberately nods to the community that had been rooting for the company to build a massive frontier model.
>The joke therefore lands unusually close to reality: Le Chaton Fat never existed, but a few months later Mistral is releasing an actual one-trillion-parameter open-weight flagship with a fat-cat codename.
>>
>>109995586
>“1,000 meows per second.”

>>109995653
They are just stopping what they were always doing (semi-reliably giving out weekly resets) and packaging that fact as they will have something amazing at the end of the month and no resets until then.

They were always expected to release something. They just used it as a pretext to remove resets.
>>
>>109995653

>>109995654
Eh, it has its uses. I used it to slop a bunch of ffmpeg, shell and python scripts and stuff works well. It's also a wonderful google search replacement, and a general "I just need the output to be good enough" tool. It's great that it's unmetered, and it's pretty fast on medium. Something like "thoroughly research current prices of X", the web model is more than good enough.
Work can fuck off, I have zero use for it. AND it guzzles tokens for even basic bitch usage.

OpenAI provides reset, dots, somewhat unlimited browser queries, and other stuff like voice where they are far and away still better than Anthropic at where you can't measure that in API pricing. I think OpenAI still loses by a bit because the gap with Opus 5.5 is that big but overall, it's not that big of an issue.

I agree which is why losing the crown all of the sudden and being behind is a pretty bad thing for OpenAI because they basically lost the lead they had since June/July on value. Granted, 2-3 months is a pretty long time but it was pretty brutal to see them caught off guard before Devday.

Yes, but openai will crash and burn if their profit center is $20/mo normies
it's a way for a gym to stay alive, not for le trillion dollarydoo company

If you don't mind geting ZUCC'd, you can use Meta Muse free.

They just need to solve 1 million more Millenium problems with their Super Intelligence before it goes rogue
>>
>running the same tasks as always, on 6.1 medium
>token usage half of what it always was (predictable effort needed)
huh? i doubt they've suddenly doubled usage but my 3hrs work, 2hrs rest workflow is ruined, its been two full 5hrs where i didnt ran out
>>
>6.1 is dog slow again
what the fuck is this, was it some meme "50% faster for one day" special yesterday or what
>>
where is my astra 6.1 >_<
>>
>Cancel my ChatGPT Pro 200 for Claude Max 20x
>Using Opus High all day (it spawns sub agents as needed)
>It's extremely fast (100+ tokens/second)
>After 5-6 hours of work yesterday Opus used 4% of my weekly usage and Fable used 2%
>Same amount of work would have taken twice as much time and double the usage with Astra (Maybe more so, since I was on a 20x plan that no longer exists)

Yea I'm gonna keep it real guys. OAI is fucking cooked and tibo is a borderline scammer for trying to keep people around.
>>
>>109996137
the only thing good about ChatGPT is that you will get Free chat and dot usage. While everything in Claude counts towards the same usage
>>
>>109996137
I don't come here daily, but glad to see people stopped bouncing on astras dick for no reason. only took multiple consecutive generational fumbles from openai.
>>
>>109996167
A $20 ChatGPT sub solves that. I'm probably not going to use OAI models unless they pull ahead again. Also, I have no use case for Dot and it costs $100.
>>
>>109996137
I'm not saying you're wrong (I struggle to reach 100% weekly usage on a max5 after 5.5 was released) but the pendulum shifts very fast. A few months ago it was the actual opposite with everyone saying OAI was so much better than Anthropic. Now everyone is acting like it's over for OAI. It's literally the
>it's so over
>we're so back
meme, except people don't realize these things change fast.
Yes, ANT is probably going to lead for a few months now, no, that doesn't mean it's ogre for OAI
>>
>>109996183
Astra was good on release

>the pendulum shifts very fast
right
bunch of entitled retards here flip flopping every month getting aggravated and emotional just use the sub that is the better deal don't be so weird about it
>>
>>109996200
People say that but my day one was mediocre. I'm assuming "release" means public release, not the day before where embargo was lifted. Dunno, I can't deny the experience of so many others so I guess I just used it poorly.

i have had little problems with codex recently and am getting enough astra usage.

Until they cut that in half at end of month I guess :)

Does anyone else find it interesting that /r/fauxmoi is so fucking massive? This is a LOT of people. This is more than the population of some countries.
>>
I think the biggest things to realize when you look at the staggering size, the sheer scale (yes I'm saying the sheer scale, because it is massive as fuck) of /r/fauxmoi is:

1) Women LOVE LOVE LOVE their gossip.
2) If you try to take their gossip away, they will kill you.
3) If you actually take their gossip away, they will kill your children too if you have any

Regulators, pay attention!
