Something like a 20,000 dollar nothingburger involving an electrician fucking up and breaking some equipment turned into about 1.5 million because the company wouldn't share the internal dashcam of him lighting up a crack pipe in his work van. The building security cameras showed him fiddling with a lighter outside the truck and dropping his pipe on the ground. There was an internal facing dash cam in the truck that "magically" didn't have footage, but when the court ordered the camera to be turned over it worked perfectly. Judge called bullshit and that was that. Jury was not asked to interpret the facts, they were told to treat the facts as one thing, and award damages based on that.
