I need one of these now for fucking private trackers for some dumb faggot reasonwhich one does /g/ use. I am not using that microsoft or google shit
>>110007482They're all the same identical shit, pick whichever UI or Icon you like more, like literally.
>in 2022
>>110007482>private trackerswhat did you expect?
I don't like how help pages are the first link when i search for any of these
>>110007501>dude just use a gayniggerkey
>>110007523>#1 trending in California
pass
just keep using KeePassXCyou are using KeePassXC, right?
>>110007570>>110007599Guys, that is not an Authenticator, it's a Password Manager.
>>110007482USE AEGIS you can export the database into encrypted filesyou can also export the secret keys into your PC password manager like bitwarden or keepassXC for convenience, but some people think this ruins the point of second factor (other device) authenticationuse aegis authenticator. don't use microsoft, google or always online garbage like that
>>110007606you can have keepassXC work as a TOTP vaultI wish I could screenshot it but it won't let me
>>1100074824 different apps just named authenticator lol
>>110007482Try FreeOTP, if it works use it otherwise pick #3 or settle for microsoft or google
>>110007482>I am not using that microsoft or google shitlol, get fucked
>>110007482ente
>>110007606>that is not an AuthenticatorRetard. Consider suicide.>Timed One-Time Passwords (TOTP) are a popular choice for two-factor authentication methods. These codes are typically six digits long and change every 30 seconds. They are derived from a shared secret value and the current time. Once set up, KeePassXC can calculate TOTP codes like any authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator. The codes can be used with copy/paste, browser extension, and Auto-Type.
>>110007482AegisEverything else is gay chinky tranny raped spyware
>>110007616I personally do both. Aegis (from F-Droid) for stuff I care about, and KeePassXC's 2FA (alongside the username and password in the same DB) for stuff I don't give a fuck about, throwaway accounts, etc. that enforce 2FA for whatever dumb reason.
>>110007712>>110007728This, best one there isAegis is also good
>>110007712I almost went with Ente until I saw the images on their about page. I chose Aegis instead.
>>110007890Wow no need to be rude, you made me sad.
>>110007482The trifecta: keepassxc, aegis and syncthing
>>110007482I made my own.
>>110007482on a phone i use freeotp+, it's foss, simple, gets updates like never, has option to import export. on desktop i just use one in my password manager, which is keepassxc
freeotp+
>>110008180>that pagehaha oh wow
>>1100074821password
google authenticator is fine for most people but i use keepassxc. it handles 2fa otp nicely.
looking into this more I guess I want one that also works on desktop too I don't like the idea of having to get out my phone a lot i don't like using phones
>>110007616KeepassXC is the only one that lets you export passkeys. With every other password manager, your passkeys are locked to a proprietary cloud system or physical device with no way for you to get it out.For TOTP only, aegis is the best, but it doesn't support passkeys.
authy used to be good then they removed desktop support
>>110007712*quack*
>>110008733Bitwarden does too. It also supports CXP.
I use this one. The secrets are stored on the hardware key so I don't need to worry about what happens when I lose/upgrade a phone. I just install the app on the new phone, tap my key on the back, and it works.
>>110008892Bitwarden is a proprietary cloud service. It's great if it can export the secret, I didn't expect that. Still not usable for me. I don't want to rely on 3rd party services. Also CXP is a scam, it doesn't copy the secret, it destroys it on the source device after it's been copied afaik.
>>110008180Yikes!
>>110007599fucking this, another anon already told OP the same thing in >>>/g/ptg
>>110007482I think it's hilarious that someone can have a PTP account and yet never bothered to secure it with 2FA. That's like driving your Ferrari into the hood and leaving it unlocked overnight.
>>110008963you can host your own bitwarden instance iirc, their server is open source
>>110007482oathtool -b --totp <token>lead command with a space so your sekrit doesn't get saved in your bash history
