Why nobody seems to care that japanese translation is now solved?
>>110008181Elaborate, and tell me why I should care about it.
>>110008181was reading somewhere how most asian movies were translated by the same dozen indonezians for years so they really didnt give a shit about proper translation
>>110008181>>Okay, this is a request to translate an entire Japanese EPUB file. The user has provided the full text of a light novel, "...". The content is extensive, with multiple chapters, illustrations referenced, and a detailed afterword. First, I need to assess the scope. This is a full-length novel, over 200 pages in print format. The user wants it translated, likely into English. The deep need here is probably to read the story in their language, as they may not understand Japanese. The challenge is that this is a massive piece of text. Translating the whole thing in one go would be impractical and result in an enormous response that would likely exceed any reasonable length limit and be quite unreadable in a chat format. The user likely doesn't expect a full translation in a single message; they're probably initiating a process. So, the best approach is to acknowledge the request, confirm the translation will be into English, and propose a practical way to handle it. Breaking it into logical sections like chapters would be the most manageable for both of us. I should offer to start with the first section to show I'm engaged and ready to help. The translation itself needs to be accurate and fluent, preserving the light novel's style and pacing. I'll need to handle the Japanese honorifics, cultural references, and dialogue naturally. Since I'm translating a commercial work, I should also include a disclaimer about using it for personal purposes only to respect copyright. I'll structure the response by first acknowledging the request, then stating the translation language, proposing a chapter-by-chapter approach, and then immediately providing the first chapter as a demonstration of my capability and to get the ball rolling.
>>110008181probably because you're vague posting like a retard. what does this mean? can i easily, quickly and effortlessly translate JAVs?
>>110008181Because the japanese are traditionalist coporate oligarch worshippers that still use westoids prioritizing personal agendas over decent translations of media.Unless you translate games that run on emulators, are DRM/anti-tamper free or make unofficial fan translations of books and digital media and post it in websites that normies don't give a shit about then nothing has changed.Japanese translations will continue to be bad as long as normies continue to buy them.
>>110008381>can i easily, quickly and effortlessly translate N5 level content?yes, but it'd be easier if you just stopped being lazy
>want to read a manga that was only half scanlated>download ten raw volumes>dump them in koharu and wait a few minutes>end result is cleaner and better translated than many ESL translations i've read over the years
>>110008424bro is reading hallucinated fanfiction
>>110008181Because translation was never the issue it was always localization.
>>110008181It's not though. You can tell this by all the 1 star doujins on exhentai.
>>110008446
>>110008181Because it's not. Ask any Japanese speaker.
>>110008181it's probably not that it's solved, just that translation quality for weebshit barely matters. and ai is good enough for that. What's the point in making subpar TL if ai can do it faster?Motherfuckers pretending they're reading japanese dostoyevski instead of cum inside imouto simulator 9000.
>>110008381>what does this mean?>>110008346>can i easily, quickly and effortlessly translate JAVs?try Whisper AI
>>110008469Dostoevsky would've loved cum inside imouto simulator 9000 thoughbeit
>translation>translation, japan
>>110008181It's not really though, unless you don't care what you read, you'll find mistakes or like "It doesn't make sense" phrases, I know a bit Japanese and when I use the translation feature that exist in browsers for example I can see mistakes
unless it gives me pages of TL notes on why the author used these specific kanji, or kana, or katakana, or intended for this homonym, or analysis or 音 訓 reading in constructed compounds, or clearly distinguishes between らる and られる, or doesn't gloss over minutiae like がる and さえ, or draws the correct cultural and/or time period references, or can break down naming conventions, or pick up on per-character verbal ticks, and would have a comprehensive history of previous works per-author to draw parallels from, shit is only good enough to compare to localizer fanfiction, even though the AI would have undoubtedly consumed said localizer fanfiction to produce its own hallucinated fanfiction
>>110008634claude and gemini can do this now.
>>110008474>5 minutes per monthuseless
>>110008655turboscribe? both at the same time? youtube subtitles?
>>110008181Even weebs don't want to play or read that garbage. They just thought they did as an excuse to learn Japanese (dumb idea).
Brother, it's not "solved" at all. It's certainly improved greatly over the last decade but be serious.>>110008469It does seem like people are more content with shitty translations now. But that's more for Korean works.
>>110008181in my experience it's not solved, ask an actual native speaker. nevertheless it's still pretty useful
>>110008651feels like I see these kinda posts (inc. OP) every 3-4 months
>>110008181But more importantly... Why hasn't japanese porn censorship fully solved?
>>110008381Yes. I actually even wrote a webapp where you can drag and drop any video file and it'll extract the audio and create subtitles for it in one of 150 languages from like one of 50 languages and gives you srt back and can embed it in the video file.
>>110008750Because the quality of human that actually wants the quality of the machine that steals all is still absolute rock-bottom jeet tier and thus is still too lazy and too incompetent to do it themselves despite how easy it would be.
>>110008778that doesn't help me tho and i am selfish. i will just have to wait longer to enjoy my javs.
>>110008468Japanese speakers don't know English so they can't comment on the quailty of Japanese to English translations.
>>110008634a local model is easily better than 99% of the garbage i've consumed thoughbeit.
>>110008181Another vibeGOD victory
