>modern technology
>>110009480>you should not use this technology for the purpose it was designed forNice!
>>110009480wtf is modern standby
>>110009504Modem standby is when you bring a spare modem along "just in case".
>>110009504s0 sleep aka your laptop still being on when you close the lid
>not buying a MBP
>>110009480Oh, so that’s why standby doesn’t work on my work laptop. Explains why I often pull it out of my backpack, nice and toasty but completely empty. Or why it’s always powered on in the morning when I get back to the office, even though I did send it to sleep when leaving in the afternoon. Who the fuck thought getting rid of standby was a good idea? Fucking piece of shit takes forever to boot and then even more time to start all those” apps “ I need for work and even longer to navigate to the various files I’m working on, doesn’t really matter if I use the shitfest that is explorer nowadays or sharepoint in the browser.
/sfc scannow fixes this
>>110009591no it doesn't you retarded jeet
>>110009553this shit can still with macbooks btw
>>110009480cant even sign up on gitlab without a credit card or phone number FFS NIGGER
>>110009645nope, they go into deep sleep, no heat
>>110000000
>>110009724why lie
>>110009765still no heat
>>110009765>your Mac>not this maciToddlers... I- I kneel
>>110009480Is this fucking shit why I sometimes find the Windows laptop I put in either sleep or hibernate fucking awake when pulling it out of the laptop bag?
>>110009504a faux standby created by microslop to enable the uploading of telemetry, downloading of ads, and other miscellaneous botnet node functionality in "sleeping" PCs
Works fine both on my macbook pro and my linux laptopModern technology is fine
>>110009480>we only support LESS FEATURES now>the old legacy MORE FEATURES is no longer supported>oh BTW, the price is doubled and the build quality is worse
>>110009855learn some respect skundep
I asked Claude about this and ended up learning a lot of things. Thanks anon.
>>110010125I wasn't aware Japan loved Apple phone so much
>>110010284It used to be higher.
>>110009480First off. Why does Hibernation imply you are connected to a network? The laptop is effectively switched off.
>>110010284Japan loves proprietary mutt garbage. They run ancient Windows versions as well.
>>110010324Because Windows doesn't respect it and can bring itself out of hibernation for whatever reason.
>>110009480I've never ever had a problem with Modern Standby, I don't understand what people are complaining about. The laptop discharges only like 3-4% each 12 hours in Modern Standby.
>>110009480I just close my MacBook's lid and it stays cold. I don't need to wait for it to boot whenever I need to use it. Why settle for inconvenience?
Latitude's been enshittified like crazy, Dell Latitude + Windows 11 is the most cancerous combination I've seen in my 35 years of experience with computers. I rode four Latitudes to death since 2018 and I would never use one as a personal device
>>110010375My work Latitude wiht Windows 11 doesn't hibernate half the time and will spin fans like crazy with the lid closed
I do this all the time and my laptop gets really hot in my backpackI don't care
