Someone disassembled photoshop and made an open source implementation in Rust with AI. It looks like the real barebones photoshop and has some features that Gimp does not have, like visualizing layers by RGB colors, to make separate masks, for example in pic rel.Link: https://github.com/storytold/photocraft
>>110010207>rust
>>110010222its good because it was written by AI, not a porn addicted transgender
>>110010207I'm definitely not the biggest fan of AI in the world, but I've been yearning for a professional-level media production suite for Linux for so long that if this actually works out (e.g becomes stable enough for professional use and it's safe from any possible Adobe DMCA takedowns), I'd be really pleasantly surprised.
Why is this being shilled so much?https://desuarchive.org/g/search/text/photocrafthttps://desuarchive.org/g/thread/109986785
Kinda doubt dissembling would really yield a usable result, though i have no idea about dissembling Realistically i would say they just let AI use photoshop and copy it
>>110010538the more idiots they rope into their ecosystem the better chance they have of one of them buying one of their subscriptions tiers.
>>110010366This should ideally be what AI is used for, brute forcing tasks nobody enjoys or can justify wasting their time on manually. That was the original intention, it's nice whenever you see it actually implemented in that way. It's rare, because we live in hell.
>>110010280and who prompted the ai?
>>110010207It didn't need to do disassembling Just point the AI to PSD test files
>>110010207*with SI
>>110010280I'm gonna AI generate tranny porn in FOSStoshop.
>>110010548gotta admit I haven't a clue about dissembling either, thought it was something to do with disguises until now
Literally illegal, expect it to get nuked in 2 weeks. Do AIshitters have no understanding what clean-room reverse engineering actually is?
>>110010207Who gives a fuck about this generic software one of you claudefaggots with ur 200 goyscription should 'reverse' substance painter then I'd need not when you git clone gimp
>>110010538it's being shilled all over social media too. It's either what >>110010567 said or it's a psyop to get anti-corpos to like AI
>>110010207Literal slopwareUnusable even for simple tasks like rotating image in arbitrary degree
>>110010207This is like the sixth thread on the catalog about this.As expected, it's an incredibly poor facsimile - this thing is further from real Photoshop in capability than ReactOS is from Windows 11 26H2.
>>110010538probably because it promises to be fully re'd/ reimplemented adobe tools. im veryy excited for it but i tried the photoshop clone yesterday and it was shit, hiding layers only made them invisible instead of actually disabling it so you couldn't interact with layers below. it did load my 500mb psd file fine though which is exciting
>>110010280>not a porn addicted transgenderNeither was photoshop, but let's stop talking about your father.
>>110010207>and has some features that Gimp does not haveyeah no shit, we've been screaming at you for 20 god damn years about this
>>110011174>Literally illegalIf it gets taken down I will simply make my own. Fuck Adobe.
>>110011174one agent disassambles the code and writes a formal description in pseudocode or normal language.Another agent reads the description and builds it without touching the actual program. How long until Adobe and co. try (hidden) prompt injection in their source code?
>>110010280Did you mean a nazi destroying magical girl with anime super powers flooding herself with ecstasy by brandishing her rod of fascism's bane?
>>110010207>MCP serverInteresting, I might actually use this. I get really annoyed by the mockups Opus/Astra creates with code because they're not easy to modify.
>>110010222It only uses 19mb ram (the AppImage), so it's automatically better than photoshop.
>>110010207looks exactly like gimpwhat's wrong with the real gimp?
>>110010207It's a Tauri App.
>>110010207It actually works WHAT THE FUCK
>>110015097it's shit? I use krita even though it's not really designed for my use case, and yet it's still better than gimp
>>110012777>How long until Adobe and co. try (hidden) prompt injection in their source code?i think this is route most obfuscator / vm solutions are gonna takeeither this or attempt to mindrape agents trying to reverse said software

>>110011174>Literally illegal, expect it to get nuked in 2 weeksAnything which might harm the economic interests of Super Intelligence is now illegal. Adobe can't do shit
>>110010538I'm surprised this isn't being talked about more.I tried their Photoshop copy, and it works perfectly
>>110015391The crazy thing is it's only 144 MB and opens instantly.
>>110010207does it still take 10 seconds to start up?
>>110015403That's too much, given that it only renders the UI and have nothing otherwise functional.
>>110015428It's fully functional.Here's a video made only using the vibe-coded adobe apps.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5no1oGYxeL0

Hoping the Acrobat clone is full featured, sometimes I have to deal with weird locked pdfs that only Acrobat can seemingly unfuck.

>>110010207Don't care; not using AI slop if I can avoid it. I'm sticking with GIMP.
>>110010538Mostly because people despise Adobe.
>>110010280Same difference lol The transhumanism globohomo shills shill both trans/post-genderism and AI lol
So have any artists or video editors used these do they actually work past 2 tools?
>>110010207>disassembledhe didnt actually. he only used the public PSD spec and behavior of the program, which is why its an actually good program and not a slow bloated turd>Clean-room: implemented from public specs and observed behaviour only. No proprietary code, shaders or assets.>PhotoCraft's PSD support is a standalone crate written from Adobe's public specification
my hatred of Adobe is greater than my hatred of AI so if people manage to make something decent to put them out of business I'm all for it

Still using Photoshop CS4 kek. It's a student license from the early 2010s that my installer CDs / ISOs will works with.It doesn't have 4K support either so I have to run it in system (enhanced) DPI scaling to make it look like native 1080p.Maybe I should look into Affinity sometime. This Photocraft shit looks too early like everything else getting slopped out lately, but hey if they stick to it and don't get sued into oblivion maybe I'll check it out.Like the icons though, reminds me of those O'Reilly computing book covers.
>>110015311what makes it backward? the ux of photoshat and gimp are both horrible. people are just trained to use photoshat.
Krita just with better autofill is all I've ever wantedand maybe that displacement brush thing
>>110015006close, but the magical girl gleefully destroys anti-Nazis and is the bane of antifa.
