Is desktop Linux failure a proof that FOSS model simply doesn't work?
>>110017619ur pc is a wrapper for ai now, os wont matter since it will all be open souce soon
>>110017630>it doesn't matter if your shitty Linux-based OS crashed your browser before AI chat can provide you with an answer
>>110017658its ok qwen already upstreamed the bugfix
>>110017619linux will only be successful when it sold with pcs like windows iswindows wouldn't be successful without being sold with pcs because it's garbage.
>>110017619Install Gentoo

>>110017619What? Failure? What? Elaboration Needed. Are you Real? Please... Your image isn't even original...
>>110017686It already happened. No one bought it.
>>110017696system76 doesn't count because they are overpriced
>>110017691Desktop Linux is multiple decades old project now and yet no one uses it (because it's so bad).If it isn't a massive failure then I don't know what is.
>>110017706Yes, you have to be competitive in the free market to be successful.Desktop Linux isn't, because it always follows commercial solutions (and very slowly and poorly) and never innovates - it doesn't provide any competitive advantage.
laptops that come with linux should be cheaper because the operating system is free as in free beersystem76 is basically alienware for linux users. overpriced piece of shit laptops
linux was successful with the steam deck.it's successful when it's on hardware as the default operating system
linux has made some progresseven normalfaggots like pewdiepie and linus techtips are using it now
>>110017778.>It's successful because finally some tech billionaire bought into the meme instead of a group of people offended at terms such as "master/slave".Just like every other OS lol.
>>110017619skill issue
>>110017619FOSS is fine. However most of the people in FOSS are the most miserable people in existence. You honestly don't realize it until you take something that is mostly spearheaded by FOSS advocates and then suddenly a single company or group improves upon the software/hardware essentially overnight while adhering to the license with the derivative work.Type of shit that honestly erodes FOSS. Especially when they try to hard to keep people in their specific world view of what FOSS should be rather than what it actually is.
Omarchy is fixing this
>>110017619idk man I just like using it and learning about how stuff works and trying stuff out. I don't really care about its adoption or whatever the market demands. I try to understand my computer more, find software I like, build things that are useful to me, and have fun while doing it. I'd encourage you to do the same
>>110017706It wasn't just system76. Dell, Lenovo. They all tried it. No one was interested and instead paid the $100 windows fee instead of selecting Linux.
>>110017686>linux will only be successful when it sold with pcs like windows isI bought a new Dell in 2009 with Ubuntu pre-installed. It was so bad I dropped out of college from the trauma.
I prefer it not to come preinstalled I want that shit kept free lol
I don't see why linux is still hated given the ever increasing dreadfulness of windows which is apparent for even the most backward of tech illiterate to see. I will never use winblows again after comparing resource utilisation on my dual boot, or thinking about proprietary telemetry for more than five seconds.
>>110017709The purpose of Linux was never to appeal to worthless gaymer goycattle like yourself. Linux is wonned and is been wonned forever.
>>110017619Same fucking spam, every fucking day.
>>110017686>linux will only be successful when it sold with pcs like windows isDell sells PCs with ubuntu preinstalled.
