AI has replaced all software engineers. No programmer will ever find a job again.

??? I'm not a coder, but what's the reason for all this hate against coders? I'm genuinely confused, what did they do to cause this? It seems weird, to say the least, that people are rooting for their misery.

Even if we assume that what’s being said is true, isn’t so many people losing their jobs and having all their hard work thrown away like that something tragic, rather than something to celebrate and laugh about? Especially considering that if that is indeed the case, then we are no exception either, and everyone else's work would end up being taken too, so the people who are laughing would also be harmed. Do you really believe you'd be the exception?
Did the coders fuck their wives or something?

The job is figuring out how to tard wrangle consistently agents now. If sysadmins can transfer to devops, so can devs transform to understanding and managing agents. Learn how to go from pure model API calls to something which can use tools autonomously and stop when it's done.

Future Growth
The employment outlook is positive: software developers are projected to grow 10% from 2025 to 2035, which is much faster than the average for all occupations. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects about 106,100 job openings annually over the next decade, driven by increased demand for artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, Internet of Things, and automation applications.

The variation in these numbers reflects different ways of counting—some sources include broader definitions of programming roles, while official government statistics focus on specific job classifications.

Many hypermaterialistic opportunists wanted to get into coding in spite of looking at it with disdain and scorn because they heard it's easy money and could not hack it. They post-rationalize this by saying it's a menial job, calling people who can do it "autistic", "uncreative", "code monkeys", "nerds" etc.

What they don't realize is that if someone's a good programmer:
1. We're not at the point where they can't find a job yet, and maybe won't ever be
2. They probably can get good at something else, so that just creates more competition and makes the rat race worse for everyone.

>Is projected growth not negative due to AI replacing lower level workers?

That's a thoughtful question. The projected growth despite AI advancement reflects a few key dynamics:

Why Growth Persists Despite AI
Demand outpaces displacement: While AI tools are becoming more capable at automating routine coding tasks, the overall demand for software development is growing faster than these automation effects can displace workers. The explosive growth in applications requiring custom software—from cloud infrastructure to embedded systems to AI/ML applications themselves—creates new work faster than it's being automated away.

AI creates new roles: Paradoxically, AI advancement actually increases demand for developers. Someone needs to build, maintain, fine-tune, and integrate AI systems. The emergence of prompt engineering, AI model customization, and AI infrastructure roles are new categories that didn't exist before.

Skill shift, not elimination: What's happening is more nuanced than simple replacement. Lower-level routine coding (boilerplate, simple CRUD operations, straightforward bug fixes) is indeed being partially automated by AI coding assistants. However, this doesn't eliminate jobs—it shifts the skill composition. The roles that remain tend to require higher-level problem-solving, architecture, domain expertise, and complex system design.

Historical precedent: Previous waves of automation in programming (frameworks, libraries, no-code tools) followed similar patterns—they displaced certain types of work but expanded the overall market because software became cheaper and faster to produce, creating entirely new use cases.

That said, your concern is legitimate. The growth might not benefit all programmers equally—junior positions requiring only basic coding skills could see tighter competition, while roles requiring architectural thinking or specialized domain knowledge likely remain strong.

I'm more interested in medicine. I want to study and work in the field of medicine, pharmacy, or something like that, but won't AI end up taking over that field sooner or later, too?
>>
>>110027548
Can someone please answer this? This is really worrying me.
>>
>>110027548

It's really quite simple

>is it medicine where a large part of the job is working with your hands

you're safe

>is it "medicine" where you're mostly on a computer or in a lab

you are not
