Just like that calculus 2 is solved. I can’t believe it just one shots everything

Genuinely barbaric that this costs ~200 USE

Who cares about calculators in 2026. Ai can do it for free nigga
>>
AI/Calcs can do the mechanical part of the work

What's important is understanding concepts and ideas

It really is a good calculator/pocket CAS.
>>
>>110024975
I was lending one in high school, it doesn't do anything your computer can't. and it is ridiculously overpriced. It is something like 150 euro for a 32bit 433mhz arm cpu. chinks would sell a clone for 30 euro or something
>>
Retard here. Why does this need to be its own device? Why not just release it as an app for phones?
>>
>>110028174
1. stemfags are allowed to use them on exams
2. some of them (not TI, HP prime maybe) are nicely built devices that are more pleasant to use. 100 euro is not that much if you constantly need to calculate shit (e.g. if you are a mechanical engineer or something)
>>
>>110028198
>1. stemfags are allowed to use them on exams
We had very strict regulations what calculators we could and couldn't use.

t. statistician

Do these have anything special compared to Desmos or not? Am I missing something?
>>110028174
There already are apps/web software like this.

What do you need math for?

we had them too and CX 2 was the default one, I don't remember anybody using anything else. there is a special test mode too
>>
>>110028232
They are more powerful. You can define bigger functions and build more complex structures than you can in excel
>>
>>110028261
Idunno lol, I heard excel pros are making bank like top tier software engineers
>>
>>110028224
How the fuck do you think statistics work?
>>
>>110028284
You start with the belief you hold and then you forge numbers until they support it, duh.

We only get to do that after we get hired by a think-tank
>>
>>110029138
It was like a decade ago though so maybe things have changed. I stumbled on some MS office support forum where they were reccommending 64 gigs of ram because 32 wasn't cutting it no more. I have no clue what kind of gigantic macros they were running.

In my college and then university, graphing calculators were banned entirely. You were supposed to be able to visualise any graph in your head or be able to shit out a quick sketch of it. Outside of that, there is no point to use a calculator in the majority of calculus anyway, its mostly algebraic manipulation and exponent laws and recalling standard derivatives and integrals. Its not hard.
Graphing calculators are why Americans are retarded tbdesu.
>>
>>110027252
It blows my mind that they still charge that much for the same thing I was using 25 years ago.

>>110029190
This. There was a list of approved scientific calculators, no graphing calculators. I'm an elder millennial, though, so I don't know what people are allowed to do these days.
>>
>>110029735
Same? it's even more expensive now, I remember paying around $30 for it back then.
>>
>>110029735
>There was a list of approved scientific calculators
In the good old days we used one of these. The calculator was too expensive for a normal person back then.
>>
>>110029758
Nah, them shits were always expensive. They were $130 back in 2004.

>>110030137
Yeah, nah, that's before my time. I have no idea how to use a slide rule.
>>
>>110028209
me own son, a statistician
>>
>>110029190
>its mostly algebraic manipulation and exponent laws and recalling standard derivatives and integrals. Its not hard
That's more reason to automate it with a machine. Spending dozens of hours mind-numbingly executing the same menial symbolic manipulation algorithm by hand is a complete waste of time. At least a brainlet line cook or assembly line worker mindlessly following instructions in the same vein helps produce something of societal value and gets paid for it, while these calculation-based mathematics courses are pyramid schemes designed to scam students into paying to solve pointless sudoku-tier puzzles.

Human calculator training has nothing to do with mathematics education. Neither real mathematicians nor others applying mathematics in their respective field (e.g. physicists) are interested in hand-calculating babby decidable problems for weeks on end. They are outsourced to symbolic or numerical solvers, which have been vastly superior to humans already for decades. Much like the feminist studies class (whose curriculum could be substituted with Markov chain output) that undergrads in Ameritardia are required to take / unable to test out of, human calculator courses only exist to keep mediocre instructors (that are too stupid to teach solver writing or proof-based mathematics, let alone do research-level mathematics) employed out of pity by the academia when the digital computer made all the human calculator jobs obsolete.

Grim.
>>
>>110033868
Pretty sure they use excel in engineering and research
>>
>>110033567
At the end of the day, what you have of mathematics is the length of your grasp of it. Trusting a clanker output on it is pure insanity. This development actually made me appreciate human intelligence more and now I'm more interested in mathematics.
>>
>>110024975
install ndless so you can have a better CAS on it (TI's is fine but not as good as KhiCAS)
>>
>>110026780
why? its a stand alone device with a shitload of parts

not like a computer is cheaper (new)

>I have no idea how to use a slide rule.
If you know how to use logarithms and exponentials, you know how to use a slide rule; it's just sticks with logarithmically-positioned markings.
That logarithms work at all is pretty amazing.

had a ti-89 in high school that could do actual algebra and teachers never noticed
>>
>>110039994
>Projection much? lmfao
Nope. I posted facts and logical arguments. Instead of attempting to explain why you (mistakenly) believe they are wrong with counterarguments, you've resorted to baselessly mislabeling them as valueless opinions, posting personal attacks, and revealing your irrelevant emotional attachment to a provided analogy. A tacit admission that you don't actually have any, provided I give you the benefit of the doubt that you're not (mentally) underage and thus capable of debate above the elementary school level.

>I know you were shaking while typing this tripe
Now THAT'S what I call projection.
