what calculator do you use?
My brain (I'm somewhat of a handsome genius).
>>110025487ipython, or calc.exe

>>110025487not that i need the extra functions for my boring office job but it's been around since 2009 and it still runs, so...

>>110025487your picrel but mine is gold instead of blue. ....why is yours blue and mine gold? only difference I see is mine has solar and yours has pre answer as a shift option for ans...what's that do?

>>110025487HP48GX or HP50g
>>110026327They're different models retard, read

>>110025487bought in 2016 for my studies. Still in use multiple times a week.>but but but you have a computer broYes, but I am much faster with this brother
>>110025487>>110026327I just realized you got the nu age version of mine >>110026605But mine still works, so I guess no reason to update
>>110025487>wizzes all over the competition
Modern calculators, like the ones linked in this thread (except the HP) are garbage, because they are designed for students. They are intentionally crippled to prevent cheating. And nobody designs calculators for engineers or scientists anymore, since they just use a computer.Just use a computer. Or get an HP and larp as an 80s engineer.
>>110026531>>110026607Good guess but this one was actually shot with the Canon Powershot G6. Not that it makes much of a difference, both are 20 year old CCD cameras. But I prefer the G5, it has better auto white balance and color processing. The G5 is very slow though, but it gets things right the first time. The G6 operates much faster at some costs to quality, and the 2 extra megapixels just make no practical difference.
>>1100266591) what's bad about that?2) I doubt that desu. >Just use a computer.I do for complex tasks, but for some quick sketching and basic calculations I am much much much faster.Typing equations into your system calculator sucks big dick. It's even worse in wolframalpha and others.
>>110026659What features are you missing?
>>110026447I still use my HP49G bought new in 2000 when I started high school.
>>110026447is this an x220 in 2026???Kinda based.
>>110026670What's bad about what, intentionally crippled tools? There's nothing wrong with them for their intended purpose, which is to be used at school and on exams.>>110026688They lack programmability and often even very basic formula storage or schools wouldn't allow them. They also usually have a really shitty list of constants where you have to remember a magic number of each constant, requiring a reference sheet and making them virtually useless. And of course you can't add your own.>so get a graphing calcGraphing calcs are also garbage, it's not useful and in rare cases that it is you should definitely be graphing on a computer. Graphing functionality is literally only there because it's in the curriculum, and yet the whole calc is designed around it. Old HPs actually designed for engineers were not graphing.
>>110026730>What's bad about what, intentionally crippled tools?>They lack programmability and often even very basic formula storage or schools wouldn't allow them. It's not really crippled. Programming is not a purpose of these tools, retard.>They also usually have a really shitty list of constantsNo. That was the case 25 years ago.
>>110026667still pretty slick for a compact, no chance in hell i can get low light that clean on your average phone even today.
>>110026748Formula and constant storage that survives a power-off (not necessarily full Turing-complete programming) should be a given for a calc of that power. There's no reason to leave it out other than keeping the schools happy. Any practical appllication quickly runs into needing that. But they are not designed for practical applications, which is why it says CLASSWIZ on them.
>>110026777this bitch is from pre-2016 btw. retard monkey doesn't know that tech moves on
>>110026702Modded T430 actually>>110026694My god I wish I had known about the HP50g that early. But I am lucky I found it in first year of university, it's been absolutely carrying my ass to straight A's in maths and physics (they foolishly let me use it in exams!!!). I honestly look forward to such subjects because it gives me a reason to learn the calculator further. It's a device that you could study for a decade and still find new features and methods of operating it. Nothing like it can exist anymore. Poweruser features constantly keep getting stripped from everything. If you release something that the average retard can't immediately use, you get sued by your shareholders.>>110026751The previous pic were was on a fucking S21 Ultra, and you can see it looks like smeared dogshit, even despite being taken in good light. Phone cameras are a joke. This 2003 5mp CCD beats all of them.
>>110026801Cool, now add your own constant.
>>110026801This thing is from 2006
>>110026817As I told you, programming is not the purpose of that thing.I can program in python or assembly any time I want. It's for quick and fast rough calculations
>>110026828I wasn't the anon. The argument between you two seems quite pointless, there's just no way around the fact the old HPs are just far more powerful than anything released after. Here's a silly set of RPL to cheat calc2 taylor series exams with the HP50g. init:<< Y Y DERVX A 'X' STO EVAL SWAP EVAL SWAP 'X' PURGE X A - * + 1 'n' STO Y DERVX 'dx' STO >>step:<< dx DERVX 'dx' STO n 1 + 'n' STO dxslv n ! / EVAL X A - N ^ * >>dxslv:<< dx A 'X' STO EVAL 'X' PURGE >>Just enter the equation, and the calculator spits the approximation out one step at a time, while letting you inspect all the in-between values for you to write down on the exam paper to pretend you did it manually. I am curious if any other calculator can do anything close to this. I honestly know next to nothing about TI's. >pythoneww, thing thing runs C89, two forms of RPL, plus ARM and Saturn assembly
>>110026898Yes I understand that the old RPL calculators might have been good and if you learned them they'd be quite powerful.I am not against that. I just use the tool that works for me and if it feels like I could get something better, then i'll look around
>>110025487Emacs lisp
>>110025487FUCK 991CW, retards at casio ruined the perfection that was 991EX.All they had to do was to bump up specs and redo visuals for 4 color but NOOOOO we have to enshitify this FUCKING calculator.THEY LITERALLY OPTIMIZED FOR YOUR AVERAGE LIBERAL ARTS STUDENT
>>110026998Many such cases.Everything today is designed for the lowest common denominator. Powewrusers need not apply.I've just accepted now that if I want to own something good, I must seek 20 year old hardware. I will live in Y2K for the rest of my life.
>>110027028Sometimes there is shit for power users, but you will not find them with regular searches and you will pay extra.Normies love shit products
>>110026638Kinda wish I got one of these when they were still available. If you try to get one now, there's a good chance it's a bootleg. The newer revisions of them are significantly worse. Even saw a youtube video doing numbers a while ago complaining about how crap they've gotten, the opinion is widespread enough.Whatever. Still rocking my original fx300-es. I have the plus model too, but I prefer the buttons on the original.
I press F12 and type to the console.
>>110027114That works for 1+1 but sucks huge ass nigger dick for ((1+2*4)/(2*4*7))*4
>>110026447Based, though I like my prime better (even with the half-baked rpn)Did you know the that prime's programming language has built-in support for usb hid? It's pretty fast for an interpreted language on a calculator too
