adb push/pull
>>
my phone is usb2 so it's far quicker to upload to google drive then download it on my pc
>>
>>110026714
use KDE Connect like everybody else
>>
>>110026757
i have a modern phone and the usb transfer is the same speed as my 13 year old android. i don't know what is wrong with android usb transfers. anyways, the /g/ approved method is to download an SFTP file manager onto your phone
>>
>>110026714
buy a type c to type c connector
>>
come to think of it, i've never needed to transfer something to or from my phone, not since like, 10 years ago.
>>
>>110026782
i have a lot of porn on my phone. thats why.
>>
>>110026803
for what purpose? are you under 18?
>>
>>110026833
tf you mean for what purpose? what do you think?

listen i gotta move these videos cuz i literally have zero storage left
>>
>>110026840
i think only under 18 year olds jerk off using their phone. everyone over 18 uses a big computer monitor.
>>
>>110026907
no, i save porn compressed with handbrake to 720p with a low bitrate then watch it on my phone
>>
>>110026927
i think this is bait so i'm going to stop responding

With Android at least if you buy a more premium model you get a more premium USB port.
When you buy an iPhone you get USB 2 no matter what because Apple hates USB.

I've had USB 3 on all of my Androids since 2013, initially with that weird asymmetrical micro-B 3.0 port.
I can also connect a screen to my phone and use it as a desktop computer.

The only times I had to resort to something similar is when we didn't have internet for a week and I got so horny I used public wifi to download videos

The "Pro" series iPhones have had USB 3 ever since they switched to USB-C

Couldn't you achieve similar, if not better, by using network share?
>>
>>110026714
Localsend, or

A FTP app on your phone + filezilla on windows (very fast and best for lots of files)
>>
I've used syncthing for years.
Once it's set up, I don't even have to think about it.
>have a folder on my desktop called "phone sync"
>run syncthing on my desktop and my phone
>add the share on both
>drag shit in
>it syncs
>I close it
>next time I want to move files I just relaunch syncthing
I think it took me more time to write this than it would take me to transcode a flac album into opus into ~\phone sync\music
>>
>>110026714
buy a better phone that supports USB3
That will be $1200
>>
>>110027000
probably but who has time to figure that out
>>
>>110027058
Pretty easy on Mi File Explorer
>>
i only just learned that usb4 is a thing, and has been for a while.
>>
Ah yes local network file sharing, item #74 on the list of abysmal OS failures.

All a user should have to do is click on "more options" with file(s)/dir(s) selected in their file explorer of choice, select "share with local network", and the file(s)/dir(s) would then be available on all devices on their local network through file explores regardless of the underlying OS. This functionality should of course be BUILT INTO all OSs and should just work.

But in the world we live in software is complete dogshit so you have to install some shitware on all devices to get a temu version of what I described.

honestly LocalSend is the best app. I use it constantly on like every platform I have (Linux, mac, iphone, android, tv, etc). It is top tier.

You're totally right. 20 years ago this all worked much better. It was crippled to sell cloud services.
