My PC doesn't crash these days.Is that due to being well-built/maintained or the operating environment I choose to run?
>>110029232I would never use that much bloat, holy shit Windows is trash.
Does it run anything you want?
>>110029232Most of the crashes on Windows nowadays come from people messing with RAM timings
>>110029587Well one of my computers can't seem to run NFS Most Wanted 2005 with a certain combination of mods...
PCs generally don't have system crashes anymore, only if you're messing with hardware timings or have a really poor quality driverfwiw all my computers (all major OSes, winlinmac) have been more stable than my pixel 10 pro xl
PC stability comes from your BIOS settings. if you can pass memory training thats your system telling you that its 80% stable. the 20% needs to be field tested by the OS.
>>110029232BothBack in the 1990s both PC hardware and OSes were less reliable and less stableHardware could become unstable or flip random bits ocasionally even because of EM interferenceOSes often wouldn't crash when that happened and instead would behave strangely, display artifacts, or corrupt your files when you saved or copied them without any warning to the end user. Windows 95/98 would often shit itself because of a corrupt registry, for this reason.Modern Windows will completely shit itself and BSOD if there's a single flipped bit in the midst of 64GB of ram, and that's actually a good thingI don't know how things are or how they improved in the Loonix front
>>110029232>Windows>Doesn't crashChoose one.
>>110029232PCs haven't crashed as some sort of common occurrence for like 2 decades or something. Last time I remember crashes being even somewhat common was back when I was still using Windows 98 in the early 2000s.
everything pre 9/21 is likely cpu instabilityeverything on 9/21 is known softwareeverything post 9/21 is, again, likely cpu instability
