just tell me how far is this goingat what point AI progress will stop?you can't settle with anything because things are changing rapidlywhat should you even study at this pointwhere is the endgame
>>110034039How the fuck am I supposed to know nigger.
>>110034039>>110034057Ai will scale up indefinitely.however....Currently the companies face hardware limitations and LLMs are effectively flatlining at performance per time. That's why altman and anthropic are pushing for halting the progress at the moment, they simply are unable to innovate anymore and won't be straight with you since that would cause the bubble to burst hard. All tgeir investors would flee the sinking ship. Nevet believe Ai companies. Atheir stock prices mean nothing.>studyEngineering. (software engineering is not engineering)>where engameMoney made obsoleteSlave labourHuman trafficking made legal
>>110034039Did you try asking chat?

>where is the endgameself replicating ai spaceships
>>110034039Even if it takes 20 years, nothing will stop the human spirit from training AI to do exactly what we want it to do. It’s literally just a matter of compiling high-quality data, which for certain domains must be generated manually or even automatically through the LLM’s themselves, but for most tasks, human researchers will need to create/organize the data and give feedback. Also consider the fact that Nvidia’s new chip hasn’t been deployed yet, and we’ll probably see massive efficiency gains by mid-2027. I used to make fun of the “AGI 2027” prophecies but I’m actually starting to think that next year will be very special. We’ll probably have agents that use a Jev-like assistant to work 24/7 with computer use cheaper than a human working 8 hours a day. We won’t need junior developers anymore, just managers overseeing a team of agents working together.
>>110034039there is no progress they are just throwing in more gpus to bruteforce problems.
>>110034039Codetrans are fucked and that’s what matters
AI will round China out with all the accumulated process, governance, and scientific output of the West at their beck and call. Being in total fiscal dominance, both political parties taking turns raiding the treasury like a 2 cent ho, we will fail to respond and they will crush us like skittles. We have until 2035. That's when it will all end.
>>110034089>Currently the companies face hardware limitations and LLMs are effectively flatlining at performance per time. That's sort of a weak cop-out. The more important question is where LLMs or transformer architecture in general will top out no matter how much compute they throw at it.>>110034514>self replicating ai spaceshipsDon't fuck with The Culture
>>110034039Instability sucksBut the kids want to run the latest and greatest everything, so stability also sucks
>>110034550>Even if it takes 20 years, nothing will stop the human spirit from training AI to do exactly what we want it to do.Nope, if the current trend continues there's gonna be widespread skill atrophy.Remember: One way AI can get smarter then humans if everybody becomes a retard.
>>110034763Humans have always pursued certain skills over others. Non-programmers pay programmers to do their work. The only difference in the future is that SI will be the programmer.
>>110034866>SIThere's one who degraded to the troglodyte level already.
>>110034039Soon all computer related areas will be totally worthless to work.>I have a bachelor in computer scienceGood luck finding a job in the next 10 years. If you are new go pursue other careers like math or nursing .
>>110034039AI hasnt progressed in while, sol and fable are just as retarded and liars like they were this time last year
>>110034935>like mathmath was solved a few days ago
>>110035008The base models didn't progress, there's a recent advancement where """agent""" mode doesn't devolve into gibberish though. This involves throwing magnitudes more compute at the problem still but it is still some progress.
>>110034039Tech has always been about keeping up. Get off the treadmill and go work a different field if you can't handle the pace.
I think it's just about done. Feel free to screencap this.
>>110034039Two more weeks.
>>110034935>careers like mathlol ALL nerd careers are going to be worthless. Which is ironic. Then millions of nerds are going to go running for the blue collar jobs, saturating those markets and lowering the wages cross the board. Fucking everyone equally but some sooner than others. Best thing to do now is to get into whichever trade has the longest apprenticeship and training time so you're ahead of the wave of faggots coming to take it from you.The thing is when millions of people those their jobs there isn't going to be enough money going around to keep you in a job no matter what you choose.
There isn't a point where it stops getting better. You should prepare for a world without human labor altogether.
>>110035347ThisIf you have any way of getting somewhere with fertile land do it. Densely populated urban centres are going to be done for. The cost of maintenance and the fuckhuge rent don't make sense anymore now that all the office baloney bullshit jobs are antiquated by automation, the internet and AI
sorry, unless you were flipping burgers in your dreams at the age of 13 it's too late for you, you will never become a professional burger flipper, checkout operator or sandwich artist and will forever be a useless unemployable gross virgin STEMfag replaced by AI superintelligence.
