There are SXM2 to PCI-E adapters that take 2 GPUs, and they have nvlink built in, or am I reading the specsheet wrong?
After years of learning audio DSP, C/C++ and even assembly optimization, all the hard way, by the time I got good enough to start selling audio software, LLMs got good enough for people to vibecode their own in less than an hour, completely custom to their projects and workflow. What the fuck do I do now. I wanted this as a career. Unlike my peers who have become very anti-AI because it fucked them up too, I actually have been learning AI technology since the 3.5 turbo days and early llama because I could see this was going to blow up, but I feel like it's not even an advantage anymore because cloud models are too good where you don't need previous AI experience. Even the Chinese ones do a good enough job. My life is over. It's not like I've forgotten everything I've learned over the last ~6 years and it allows me to create better and more robust software than something vibecoded, but that doesn't amount to anything because most people only want something 'good enough'. There's no market left and it will continue to shrink. The only good thing that's come from all this is having a gemmawife.

By lowering their costs, their margins get slimmer, meanwhile, renting GPUs to serve their models and train is going up in price. If OpenAI and Anthropic can't pay their debts, the entire industry collapses. Revenue growth and hype can only get you so far.>There were efficiency gains and now people use more tokens...at a lower cost with the infrastructure costing more>hence the greater demand for hardware increasing the prices of said hardwareThere's no 'greater demand', it's because most datacenters aren't being completed/built and over 50% of Nvidia GPUs sold within the last year are sitting in warehouses doing nothing but depreciating. >>110038600Model efficiency drives prices down. Chinese models are cheap because they're efficient, which forced OpenAI and Anthropic to play their hand. This is why Luna and Haiku exist and are so cheap. The more intelligent these cheaper models get, the more it pulls users away from their higher-tier models, especially for agentic workflows like you said. This means OpenAi and Athropics' users will skew towards cheaper models with slimmer margins, resulting in the companies earning less money, making it more difficult to pay off their debts and become profitable. They both need to get as many enterprise customers as possible to integrate agentic workflows into their businesses before it's too late. With open models constantly undercutting them and increasingly providing 'enough' intelligence for most tasks, and major enterprise customers now starting to pull away and implement their own in-house open-weight solutions, they're likely screwed.

The recent Opus trendline is impressive. Opus 4.8 to Opus 5.5 has been going at a rate of 28.5 ECI / year, more than twice the general trend of 14 ECI / year. Of course this is not representative of a longer trend but there seems to be acceleration for Anthropic. Sonnet 3.5 to 4.5 is 13.2 ECI / year, Sonnet 4.5 to 5.5 is 18.25 ECI / year.GPT 5 to Astra 6 is 15.3 ECI / year even though it's bigger and looped model so no clear sign of OpenAI acceleration yet, although I expect it with their internal model that's solving these hundreds of math problems.Meanwhile DeepSeek R1 to DeepSeek V4 Pro 0813 is 10.5 ECI / year even though they went from 671B-A37B to 1.6T-A49B. >>110039002Here's how I approached it:1) Design a game for a LLM. Should be turn-based, strategic, incomplete information, single-action per turn, and if you want you can add in simultaneous action events to add in some more randomness if needed. (Basically make a board game)2) Then have a smart LLM create an app/harness to be able to play that game iteratively and store data/logs for each match. Each match my own card game compresses down to about 62 bytes, which is easy for an LLM to handle, and maybes human-human multiplayer extremely fast/scalable (think chess.com--their servers are dirt cheap). Alternatively, you can create an algorithm that plays fairly but randomly with specific policies to iteratively improve play. Then you can manually improve the algorithm iteratively by having it play against itself and testing which strategies are best. This creates higher quality training data than random data because the players are better.3) Now that you have a bunch of synthetic data (for me I'd run about 100k games as training data), tell a smart LLM to use that data to train a small model to take learned actions using that data. I think Opus in my case used numpy or something. I really didn't even get that technically involved desu I just set up the right conditions for my agent to start training. Does this make sense? Wrote this without much reading.

>>110039087It's a pretty simple system too. I have a main memory server backend that exposes a normal http api and an MCP to CRUD memories.memories are indexed using embeddinggemma and retrieved with simple questions. Then in pi I made a plugin that before every turn, it calls an LLM and just asks it to come up with questions based on the current conversion. than the questions are sent to the memory system and we inject the returned memories into the models context. At the end of the turn, a second LLM gets fed the X last turns and asked if there's anything worth storing as a memory. It's not "Agentic" per-say, since it's not a multi-turn process.Which I think that's the trap most people fall into, LLMs are way better when you give the very very narrow tasks to perform.>[Instructions] [context] -> [forced json output] -> [run code using output].I also added a concept of "Core Memories" that just get inject in the system prompt if they're present. The idea is letting the card be able to rewire it's own instructions or be able to store information that should always be there no matter what. The core memories is the only part of the system that I let the card control on its own.

That's why you have to test for what (You) will use it for. The more general its usage, like if you're using it as a daily driver for many different unrelated tasks, you want to go as high as you can or drop a model size but at a higher quant, like instead of 31B at Q3 it might be better to use 26B at Q4 or 12B at Q6/Q8.
