>>110039234>made 1 million dollars so far, only 29 million to go
>>110039234he is unfortunately beyond bakrupt and looking for a real job.
>>110039421nobody is going to hire him
>>110039421>>110039317he used his own money to fund most of development and then took out a bunch of loans from his buddies like Jeff Roberts and finally got a publisher to pay for the rest. game is doing well now and has super positive reviews (=very long tail of sails), so he's probably going to be fine.
>>110039234>Odor of the Stinking Saar is outI don't want to hear or smell that turd.
>>110039608*sales not sails
>>110039234jai will lose to Cosmos
>>110039608>But even as I push, none of these characters shuts up, which leads me to what I think may be another cause of my tuning out: I am reviewing an incomplete build of the game. Now, this isn’t wholly unusual. It’s pretty normal for developers to alert reviewers to bugs they’re actively working on patching, or little placeholder objects they intend to fix before launch day. Normally, it’s minor enough that these omissions don’t impact anything. But in this case, I spent the entire review period listening to a voice cast of roughly half humans, and half AI voices. Not text-to-speech, to be clear, but AI.>We were warned of this in advance, and were told it won’t be in the final build. You, if you play this game, (probably) won’t have this experience. You will instead be treated to a reasonably stacked cast of voice actors who are all pretty good and probably will do a great job. Heck, the folks I did hear in-game already were great! But my experience was so weird. AI voices just aren’t…good. There were many scenes in which some characters were real and others were AI voices, which gave the whole thing a really bizarre dissonance. And while you could argue that such things are serviceable for early demos (I’d prefer silence, personally, but), I feel as a reviewer that I’ve just completely missed out on a major part of the experience, one that’s being touted in press releases but which I cannot speak to at all. It doesn’t help that the subtitles still have quite a few typos, don’t match the voices in a lot of places, and sometimes don’t seem to make sense.I'm sure the totally not bought reviews are very positive and glowing all over the internet. Lmao.
>>110039608>very long tail of salesin the age of SI and Zoomers, all sales are done in the first 2 days. Entertainment is endless and you can only pay the army of shills to scream out of the void for so long.
>>110039608>The ratio of visuals to performance is laughably bad coming from the dev that always prattles about how other peoples software is slow/sluggish.Reviewer's PC Specs:Windows 11AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core Processor - RAM: 62 GBAMD Radeon RX 9070 XT - VRAM: 16 GB
>>110039626>that kotaku review where the author spends half of the time whining about Blow's political opinions>>110039641>all sales are done in the first 2 daysnot true if the game is good and fills a niche
>>110039656>not true if the game is good and fills a nicheThat doesn't apply in this case. It's just a sokoban game and sales are heavily driven by hype, not quality. As noted, it's also a low-quality game, very buggy and performs like shit.
>>110039645>>110039677>very buggy and performs like shit.it seems the publisher rushed his hand from delaying another 10years. Never take a publisher. Thankfully jai doesn't have this problem
>>110039710Kek
>>110039710they must have. i refuse to believe that anyone could think of pic-related as finished. just absolute programmer-slop
>>110039626So his main complaint was weird AI voices and typos in subtitles? Game reviewers are a joke these days.
>>110040085>what do you mean you don't want to pay $40 for a vibe slopped sokoban game that fries an rtx 5090?
>>110040085tb h i'm playing the game and thet writing and actual voices are so insufferable i've actually muted them
