If you are a Windows or Mac chad, you can just grab it from the Mozilla FTP now instead of waiting for "LInux repos" to update.

Hail Firefox!

Can't Linux users get same-day updates through Flatpak and Snap?

Usecase for FOSS garbage?
Safari just works
>>
>>110045956
No web browser has an adblocker as good as uBO is on Gecko. uBO is just trannyware on anything other than Firefox/Gecko.
And no, uBO Lite and AdGuard do not come even close.
>>
>>110046178
just use LLMs
I made my own ext. for safari
dark mode, adblocker, cookie rejector, anti fingerprinting , youtube layout, youtube ad blocker etc.
>>

I could've sworn I've seen a jpeg xl option under settings for years now though

Does 158 fix the problem where i go to sleep and wake up to my open 4chan tabs and they're all running slow as shit and i try to type a reply and each letter comes out onscreen like one per second until i unload and reload the tab

cause hey, really loving that new jeetcode routine they got going

No thanks. I’m fine with jpegs, pngs, gifs, and bitmaps.

Reminder they could have enabled JPEG-XL years ago but they were too afraid of their Google masters who still provides 85% of their revenue. The code was there but hidden behind about:config for YEARs and could even run on Windows 2000 when using the New Moon browser.

Tested 160 yesterday to see if my userChrome.css and custom theme still work. They did.
Anything on Nightly you can recommend? It was just ok. Didn't notice speedups on youtube, other than what uBlock already did offer on beta.

Yeah great, now how many manhours of my own time do I have to spend to get it looking like a white person made it again?

it's totally not the result of decades of rotten infrastructure, which Trump is the *only human being in history* who has attempted to fix. but nuuuu, we can't repair the country if you have to make your own sandwich instead of getting doordash. tighten my belt?? NEVER i need instant yummies and perpetual immediate gratification

My cat does that in 2hu canon (shame both of mine passed). Talking about titles, did you know that kisama was respectful from the samurai era (to refer to your daimyos) up until around the late 1940s, where it was recoined after into bastard?

Based, but I have to hand it to the trannies here. Firefox is better than Chrome. The new design is a-okay with me.

>Firefox is better than Chrome
Mate just having a 100% uBlockOrigin without removed features as in Lite is enough reason to use fox. About all of the suck can be disabled in options, like a global AI off switch.
I just don't see why people start a culture war about being dumb (i.e. refusing a working adblocker because the violet UI gave them aids).
Fuck ad companies, fuck googleads, fuck chrome.
>>
>>110056766
The current group policy rules allow me to use enterprise group policy on stable free fox too.
Unless they artificially remove that, stable is the same as enterprise.
Enterprise will just have a support team to explain it for retards.
If you didn't know about these rules yet, you are the target audience to pay for currently free features.
Let it sink in, the realisation will take a while.

>and anti Trump
I don't really care if you're pro or anti Trump, but I'll have you know that Trump is pro-AI so being both pro-Trump and anti-AI is an odd combination
>>
>>110045753
Has anyone actually seen JPEG-XL out in the wild before? I know it's better than WebP but since Google controls Chrome they're the ones who get to decide what formats are used on the web. Why would anyone use a format that's not supported by Chrome?
>>
>>110058798
The NVIDIA drivers take screenshots in .jxl format if you're playing in HDR, is that it?
>>
>rapidly vomiting new full versions every two weeks
Why are modern devs like this? Boy I can't wait to see what's new in Firefox 5885404034706.
>>
it's new and different and despite being on a technology forum i fear and hate change, but i decided to not be a whiny bitch for once and gave the new design a chance and now i like it
>>
>>110046178

>>
>>110053944

>>
>>110045753
did they rollback the shitty nova ui?
>>
>>110057003
You need to look at the big picture. WE (well, most of us) know what we're doing. Regular people don't.
Guess who set shit up for friends and family, in this scenario? Yeah, us. And let me tell you, having to tweak the shit out of anything to make it work in a non-ass way is annoying when you do it again and again.
New Trannyfox update? Let's hope they didn't add some new AI-bullshit or else I'll need to set up an AnyDesk session with my in-laws again! And probably stop at grandma's this weekend.
So no, "you can disable it" isn't good enough. Just don't ship garbage with your software. If you don't, it will get installed. If you do, you'll be phased out.
How is Firefox's market share doing, btw? Yeah, thought so.
>>
>>110059051
No, expect the fag flag to be the new default.
>>
>>110058798
It's supported by Chrome as of a couple days ago, you can expect adoption to start ramping up faster.
I've seen some storefronts use it, and apparently pornhub though I haven't checked that one myself. Supposedly many sites using the Cloudinary CDN will serve JXL to supporting browsers.
>>
>>110059128
Damn they changed to purple and orange too?
>>
>>110059380
Can you link the storefonts that use it?
>>
>>110059380
It will take a year or two to become more standard. And for some reason Edge actually fully disabled jpeg XL and even removed the flag allowing it without saying why. Also safari doesn’t have full implementation yet

>>110059400
That bothers me the most because all the dark themes in the store do something that pisses me off. Dark themes are usually just better on chromium

>>
>>110045753
Only thing I care about does it still allow me to turn off nova?
>>
>>110061384
Firefox 158.0b5
Chrome 155.0.8059.40
It's Firefox Developer edition, so I got the update a few days early. Never touched any settings relating to it. I had already enabled the JXL setting earlier in Chrome, but this update should have it enabled by default anyway so I doubt that would affect it.
I get JXL in both browsers. Eastern Canada, just in case it's a regional thing.
>>
>>110061384
>>110061464
Also make sure you're checking the actual file type. The URL lies as usual.
>>
>>110061464
Oh for fucks sake, the firefox filter doesn't apply to the type column
>>
>>110059051
Sadly not.
For the time being, you can disable it with browser.config.nova in about:config.
For a more permanent solution, a few lines in userchrome.css solve the most egregious changes (Excessive rounding, padding, etc.). It shouldn't be necessary to rely on that, but at least it's still possible.

It's cool if you like Y thing instead of X thing, but you just cannot avoid facts and act deluded; https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/uBlock-Origin-works-best-on-Firefox
