What are you maids working on?Last thread: >>110035373
im gonna be honest. im so slow i will be replaced by ai. ai can write 10k loc in a few minutes. if it makes a mistake, it can debug immediately. rewrites are cheap.just from a speed factor i cant compete with ai.doesnt help that its already trained on every library and millions of stack overflow questions and shit. im still having fun working on my own ai-free project but after doing some work and feeling good about it i am reminded that ai would have finished the entire thing and debugged it into perfection yesterday.

>>110054582Addendun: To receive a bypass cookie, solve the captcha once correctly and save it after your search is unblocked with the button. The cookie is able to skip many subsequent checks if you type from URI bar to start a search in a new clean uninitialised container tab.Due to cookies not being possible to be set before the first request goes out, it cannot be really set any other way. Unless I'd manually add it to the config of TemporaryContainers each time.So this is a perfect middle ground that adds 1 click instead of solving a whole captcha over and over again each search.Someone at google must really hate resist fingerprinting and otherwise cookieless users.

27 year old Neet here what do I need to learn to use with AI? I want to make money
Does /dpt/ have technical books anymore? What were your favs?
>>110054863>I want to make moneySo does every indian using AI for his scams. What makes you different? Even with AI you still need a project no one else has thought of and that provides some value. Best is you will be a wagie using it in the way your masters tell you.
>>110054863<<<vcg>>/>/
>>110054863>>/g/vcg/there's literally nothing to learn. for most normies they can now code anything they want in english.
>>110054884I'm not Indian that's already a plus
>>110054863>install Claude Code>/plugin install superpowers@claude-plugins-official>???>PROFIT!You may also want to install some MCPs for your language (LSP support, docs), but at this point you can just ask the clanker to explain things to you. It's not like a year or so ago, where you actually had to know how to force the clanker to do roughly what you want. Knowing programming still helps to make it more manageable (if you know what property tests and mutation tests are, use those), but it's no longer a requirement to get going.2027 will finally be the year 3/4 of us will be laid off tbdesu : X
>>110054949Well that helps a lot to prompt it correctly:https://github.com/aj-geddes/useful-ai-prompts/blob/main/prompts/supply-chain/supply-chain-excellence-director.mdAlso I try to answer your previous post seriously now.
So why wasn't it one of (You) that discovered the method that allowed people to definitively prove that Dream's unedited manhunts are faked?
>>110054863Same but 31 years old and not Indian. What do I need to learn to actually know what the fuck am I doing? Will learning Python and software engineering + AI save me?
>>110054882Joy of Clojure was pretty good.
>>110055043Anon just prompt it correctly like here >>110054983 and be rich. good coders usually mere have access to better paid models and more tokens. it really is just how you *tell* AI what to do, and the model not being free shit. All of these math problems solved ate up 100k to 1M USD, it's just a rich people flex on us.
>>110055043If you want work? Lmao, nope. Ain't nobody be needing junior engineers soon. Well, that is until seniors start retiring and C-levels realise they were being dumbfucks not hiring juniors to skill up, because suddenly there's nobody left in the pipeline xD But by then it will be too late and either shit will collapse or we get IRL techpriests. If you have an idea that'll make you mine and you vibe it yourself —maaaaybe?
>>110055092But what if I wanna know what the AI shat out so I can modify and expand on it?I already vibecoded a couple of silly simple things like an offline 4chan for myself, a program that scans for all connected devices on my local network and tests internet speed, a crime heatmap separated by categories, and a shitty short VN.I wanna do bigger things but I don't know what the fuck I am doing.

>>110055147>the optimal way to prompt is to feed the shatbot interfaces and psudocodeAre you telling me somebody would just go use an LLM and then… like… think things through?
>>110055208shocker, ikrto the lurkers/whomever it might concern-the brain is a force multiplieryoure gonna do a better job if youre knowledgeable, with llms, or notlehrn 2 kode, even if you intend to use code gen
>>110055158I mean, if you're in it for money like the other anon then sorry, that's the truth. You're not going to get a job out of it anymore. If you only want to understand the code the slopmachine outputs, then it helps a little, sure, but a lot of things even SOTA models still get wrong are things you need years of experience to easily see. And even then, there's nothing really to "understand" in what an LLM outputs. There is no big coherent idea behind it, like there is in a human brain. Just the most likely shape answers to your questions take on the internet. The best way to get mileage out of LLMs is to have been coding for long enough to know what NOT to do and understand where and how put dams on the model's behaviour to get that.So feel free to learn Python if that's something you enjoy. The returns on how well that helps you wrangle slopbots may be spotty for years.
>>110055246Well, that's where I started out too. Hated the clanker hype because the fuck I need a thing that can't think for??? I can handle my own problems with thinking and when that's not enough, I need to ask someone who is smarter than me, not some fancy hyperparametric function. Then, sometime this year, models started to be competent enough that you could just give them a task, and they would implement it no worse than a junior. Faster than any junior. With less sleep or complaints than any junior. Sure, at least a junior learns with time to become a mid, while current-gen LLMs can't. But who cares, there are so many low-hanging tasks it makes little sense not to farm them out. And then, belatedly, you realise it's the humans who don't scale. Clanker PR, after clanker PR the will to actually understand the vacuous slop you're given in return dwindles and dwindles until, it turns out, you read none at all. Of course you add property tests, mutation tests, simulation tests, proofs even, so you can be more and more sure the clanker does something vaguely approaching your intent, but you can never be sure again, because there's just so much slop built on top of slop built on top of slop there's no shred of intent to be discerned behind all the braces and parens. You are now here.Well, collective you, I suppose. You'd probably say you're still one of the sane ones. But drop by drop, the poison will seep in, until the whole profession turns hollow and only a shape of prayer will remain. I had now come to understand techpriests.
>>110055416kinda profound fink that was, nglim not a purist though. if i could id be abusing the fuck out of clankersim already a massive llm user, even if i use it to learn, not generate codething is, i really do need elite code because im trying to fit something you'd need a server blade for, into a consumer machinethats why i learned to produce such codeand thats why i look down at clankercode, tooits really a situation of necessity having brought me to a certain point from which i have a specific perspectivei even figured our a way to circumvent the clankers limitations, and a good deal of the coststhe pseudocode + interfaces thing99.9% of the code in the world could be slopcodeill still be doing my shit by hand because its just the constraints im working withif others code sucks, its literally THEIR problem.thats why im not a purist.my code is good. others code is their own responsibilitythats why im not demoralized, or even demoralizableidc about others. i care about my own craftsmanship, ONLYand if/when clankers will become good enough, then ill be using onebut honestly i dont think llms will ever get there. its the wrong tech for that, for a couple reasonsliek: when was the last time you saw a fallthrough case statement?an llm wont generate you one unprompted, because this shit is so rare that its not statistically significanta middle ground is like i said, interfaces + pseudocodealso pseudocode can have varying degrees of abstraction, and the shatbot will deal with that just fine
Lads I'm in second year computer science and pointer syntax / use in C isn't fully clicking, anyone have any tips? I understand them theoretically, but can't wrap my head around the syntax for different use-cases>>110048033I'm new to /dpt/ so don't know if this a continued project, what am looking at?Network file transfer to templeOS?
>>110055722Open https://cdecl.org and start putting in examples until it clicks. There's really not much more to it than enough exposure IMO.
>>110055722a pointer is a reference. thats it.you can have a reference to a reference, tooor a reference to a reference to a reference... etcwhat is it that isnt clicking, more precisely?
The Linux text to speech software "festival" has an old and limited scheme interpreter built into it. It's pretty limited but it's enough that you can do stuff with it. So I turned a "text to speech" software into a "text to image" software.
>>110055722If you think that syntax is your biggest problem you're just gonna be like the autistic scum of the Earth from the last thread. What's REALLY important is code generation, and none of these autistic subhumans could EVER come up with a language that surpasses C.And, just in case said autistic subhumans who deserve extinguishment the same way insects and mosquitoes do are reading this: >>110051070>a.k.a. man do I wish there's a instruction-generating language out there

>>110055597>thats why im not demoralized, or even demoralizableI was already demoralised before LLMs, because that's how my life made me. If anything clankers help, because they let me overcome my executive dysfunction enough to at least attempt something — that's opposite of demoralisation, if anything. The poetic waxing is half trolling, half a statement where I think clankerisation of software leads us. I didn't like the clanker hype, because it was selling bullshit. But now that they can code more effectively than my broken ass, I see how easy it is to let it go and just nod along to the crinkle your brain folds straightening out. I happened to have ended up with a surplus of them, but I'm afraid that too will pass. And I'm afraid the average codejeet was even less fortunate in that department.>interfaces + pseudocodeAnd how you will make sure the clanker actually follows that? Sure, interfaces part is easy, but how you will make sure the implementation reflects pseudocode? You will either have to read, which nobody at the scale clankers are being used nowadays will do, or give the pseudocode enough semantics, that it might as well be another programming language. Which I suppose is kind of analogous to where I'm going with Carol? Lawful composable abstractions are basically like making the code ever more pseudocode-like, while having a machine-checkable proof the pseudocode actually does what you want (instead of having to read everything or trust the clanker)?
>>110055781>What's REALLY important is code generation, and none of these autistic subhumans could EVER come up with a language that surpasses C.Ummm, FORTRAN is older than C, sweaty

>>110055722Write a load of stupid little programs that use pointers everywhere. If you want to have a reason to use loads of pointers, make a really simple programming language and write a shitty interpreter for it. In no time you'll have fucking SHIT pointers everywhere, and you'll have "char*", "char**", and even stuff like "struct item (*userFunction)(int argc, struct item **argv)", and it'll be all over everything in your code everywhere, pointers to pointers, pointers to functions, and every single thing you do would involve pointers everywhere. Eventually, you could even have a pointer to your pointer to your array of pointers, and still you'd be adding more pointers to that later on.
>>110055931inciting the corrective rape of an avatar should be a bannable offence>>110055915>Still bad at using pointers in functions, just the syntax of what to pass, what to return, etc.you shouldnt worry too much about this. its just a matter of experiencethe difference between passing/returning values vs references becomes relevant only when youre into optimizationbefore that, its just a matter of whether you need to return multiple values or not / whether you modify a value in a parent scopedont whip yourself over that, youre most likely not gonna be using c very much anywaysand if you do, you'll learn the finer details soon enough
