Is he a fraud? His game is boring, its performance is abysmal (runs worse than the average Unity game made by people who don't even know how to code), and his programming language is still nowhere to be seen. What was the whole point of those 10 years he wasted on this?
>>

Isn't he some sort of freetard icon?
If so, of course he's a fraud, by very definition.
>>
>>110051081
No, he hates open source.
>>
>>110051081
>>110051075
He's the definition of a nocoder. Other nocoder freetards sympathize with him.
>>
Yes.
>>
I dont get the random controversy pushing
A guy making a video game you might want to play isn't a tension producing concept. A million people work on games you wont play each day.

You might've cared about the programming language before claude took all programming jobs away.

>>110051075
>His game is boring
it's a fun game, but obviously not for modern brainrotted zoomers who don't have the attention span for a puzzle more complex than a 6-piece jigsaw puzzle
>>
>>110051087
>nocoder freetards sympathize with him
So all freetards? That explains a lot.
>>
>>110051075
I kept getting recommended his twitch clips lately, probably because I watched the sokoban game trailers and reviews. I honestly think he’s mentally ill, very delusional. As you have said, his games don’t run that great. Probably anyone any good would not work for him, they rather make their own game.
>>
>>110051087
I saw clip where he recommended Knuth books so idk if nocoders would ever say that but apparently university left marks in him
>>
>>110051108
I always watch those clips because some retard in comment section comments: "here is the: 'here is the thing' thin" and honestly it makes my day better.

I watched some of his videos on youtube and they were all very negative. Brings your overall mood down and makes your cortisol rise for no reason so I stopped.
>>
>>110051075
he's just bitter that soulja boy was right
Braid was a totally pointless game and WAY worse than Mario

What Blow does is technically impressive, he is clearly a skilled and knowledgeable programmer, but he lives in his own bubble, probably because he got rich quick off of a couple of hit indie games and got the typical out-of-touchness that comes with that. He can afford to spend all that time making a new language from scratch and not using an engine because he's sitting on millions and doesn't actually have to deliver anything in a reasonable timeframe. His advice is the kind of stuff that appeals to nocoders who want to pretend that they know what they're talking about. Most people don't have 10+ years to spend on the same couple of projects where they can just keep refactoring the whole thing over minor annoyances. At one point he hired other programmers to either help him with his new game or develop the JAI compiler but every time he make mention of them was just to lambast their code for not being up to his standards then refactor everything himself. Why did he even hire them in the first place?

>>110051127
Blow is definitely a deeply unhappy person despite that he used to sell himself as a sort of zen guru. His appearance gives it away, sure it could attributed to aging, but he looks perpetually tired and bloated like he's a chronic alcoholic. I recall he made a video where he said something along the lines of finishing projects and productivity being the most important thing in life which sounds like complete bugman mentality, especially since it seems like he doesn't enjoy what he's doing anymore.
>>
>>110051294
Yes he got rich from Braid because Microsoft heavily promoted the Summer of Arcade on Xbox 360 when there were only one or two digital releases a week. This and Limbo I think were the big hits on it. Now we have a million indie games so no one really knows what is a good game these days.

>He's the definition of a nocoder.
do you even know what that phrase means
>>
>>110051075
>Is he a fraud?
No, he is not. He is who he presents himself to be, for better or worse.
>His game is boring
Whether you find his game entertaining or not has absolutely nothing to do with him being a fraud. I don't think you understand what that word means.
>>
>>110051075
just a slightly above average iq dunnin kruger
>>
>>110051762
you included your signature but forgot your message. usually we do things the opposite way here

regards, anon
>>
>>110051075
He called out Star Citizen for being a scam early on.
>>
Who?
>>
>>110051784
as did literally everyone
>>
>>110051774
he yapped about finishing things and scope and then took 10 years to make a sokoban game

he yapped about performance and made his own language with his own game engine for 1 game to make his 1 game in 10 years run resonably poorly on mid/lower end hardware for what the game is and how it looks like

proving he is out of touch dunning kruger who had a couple of good ideas back when the competition wasnt harsh but he cant consistently create great games and is not a genius he thinks he is but instead just an above average iq, passionate person who sniffed a bit too much of his own farts during these 10 years.
>>
>>110051802
i see your signature is well-chosen
>>
>>110051795
How many people put their reputation on the line to do it?
>>
>>110051809
>npc repeats the line after his eddady gets proven not a genius since he cant engage
as big of a dunnin kruger as your eddady i see. concession accepted.
>>
>>110051815
i don't think anyone did, including blow. it was extremely fucking obvious m8
>>
>>110051824
>extremely fucking obvious
i should add that this is a fundamental part of running a good scam - you want stupid punters. filter out anyone with a clue early and milk the rest hard.
>>
why is some tranny here so obsessed with him anyway
>>
>>110051963
he makes things. a certain kind of person finds this fundamentally offensive.
>>
>>110051979
there are plenty of people who make things tho, but the troon seems obsessed with this guy specifically for some reason
>>
>>110052006
well that's how obsessives go, they latch on to one thing in particular.
>>
>>110051075
haven't played the new one but Braid and The Witness are both super good, he's not a fraud
