>finally design a package system that offers programs that are distro agnostic to not deal with package manager dependency hell
>STILL HAS TO DOWNLOAD DEPENDENCIES ANYWAY
Imagine if programs inside of this piece of shit was one big flatpak file ready to install in a simple double click, its gonna have the duplicate dependencies anyway so whats the problem? i dont give a single shit if the file size is "bloated"
having a simple installer would solve so many fucking issues, so close yet they still fuck up and yes i know about Appimages but this could be a decent option still
>>
You misunderstand how Flatpak works.

>having a simple installer would solve so many fucking issues
how?
an installer would be making sure you have the necesary dependencies needed for the program to run. the 2 year old chat app you download would still need a specific 2 year old dependency that may be differnet from what you already have on your computer.

Blame the ecosystem of breaking changes.

It's this
>update one flatpak
>lmfao, no you fucking didn't, you will now download 1.5 gig of dependencies, gg no re
>>
Dumbass
It's distro agnostic BECAUSE it gets all those dependencies
You're basically running a small distro
Same goes for steam with their runtimes

Fr. Someone needs to make an open-source rewrite of flatpak with rust and AI.

>download 50MB app + ~2GB of dependencies
>download ~2GB app
does it really make a difference?

what about flatpak but just as sandboxed appimages, call them Flappimages and the store Flaphub.
>>
>>110059765
There's also no fucking download button.
Imagine being such a fucking freetarded autist that you design a system and think "nah we don't do that in germany".
>>
>>110059765
how can i include all dependencies in a flatpak and release it as torrent?
like package a cracked full game running in wine, or dosbox etc etc?
>>
>>110061759
Yes, you retarded gorilla nigger, because I already have all the fucking dependencies, but now I'm downloading and maintaining an extra copy of them because of flatpak's retardation
>>
>>110062697
If you had all the dependencies, flatpak wouldn't be downloading them.

Hysterically funny post anon, good one

I swear to god you niggas are the least tech savvy people on the internet
>>
the correct solution is one large, stable and mature shared library that covers most needs and bundled dlls for particular uses

freetards will however insist on doing things in the worst way possible

Congratulations anon
You've really reinvented the wheel there https://opensource.com/article/22/5/dynamic-linking-modular-libraries-linux
>>
>>110059765
The real issue is that Linux is not a complete OS, it's just a (shitty) kernel - which means you need a ton of dependencies to do the most basic stuff applications expect to be provided by the operating system itself.
>>
>>110063143
nah the real issue is version numbering and by extension backwards compatiblity.
linux development is literally throwing shit over the fence. 'fuck you, deal with it'

glad ai is getting to a point that arrogant little coders are getting their shit pushed in.

Have you ever heard of content-addressed storage, you neanderthal?
