yay <something that vaguely ressembles the name of the program>
Is a lot better than having to do the humiliation ritual of dragging the icon, and this assuming an application blessed by apple, with the ones that don't requiring you to go to some obscure application on the control panel and trying to run the program just to input your password into the program twice, for each component of the program, which HAD a cheat to bypass but no longer.

For Macfags? Yes.
He was banking on the fact that he was creating a userbase of tech-illiterate narcissists so that he could be part of the student license grift instead of being left out in the cold like Linux was.
If someone only learns how to use their software in an abstracted facsimile of manual labor, then they will never even think about how to make it do something else like saving to a format that someone with another program can actually use or knowing where their files are saved so that they aren't dependent on the company ecosystem to automate their workflow.

He understood that in order to get normal types to embrace something it would have to be simple. Enthusiasts never want it to be simple since their pride comes from understanding the details in a way that confuses most people but he knew better.

Is this the birth of an epic new maymay?

As a Linux user, this is true. I don't understand how freetards don't get this.
>>
>>110063239
There are already distros that do without it.
But anyone with half a brain doesn't want to deal with that bullshit and braindead users flock to whatever everyone else is using.

I really wish Steam had settled on ElementaryOS as their base.

This. Too many linux devs have their head up their arse about their pet languages, beating their girl dicks about being free (as in freedom not beer), their super special functions that are only applicable to one in a million users, and steadfastly refusing to implement a UI or follow any kind of convention because "terminal werks for me".
They don't make anything usable to the general masses and then complain about the plebs sticking to windows and mac. Precious fucks. If you want users make it usable and focus on the user, not yourselves.
>>
>>110063239
No it's not.
It's the worst option except for all the others.
Having to go to a bunch of different klunky as fuck websites and going thru wizards for every application, or having to do the "ritual" is a lot more bothersome than typing 10 characters.
