Why did so many retards fall for this?
Because it’s right. What’s your opposition?
>>110060480Heuristic dictionary attacks mean you can try ALL possible combinations of common length passwords if you assume they're passphrase based.
What's retarded is mandating a scheduled password reset.
>>110060480a letter is just a tokena word is just a tokenincreasing the character set to 200k doesn't help much if the password is four letters long
>>110060526>200kor in the case of horse battery stapler, like 2k since you check common words first
>>110060463No one has trouble remembering passwords like this. This is like those commercials where the people using the generic product in comparison act like retards and drop shit everywhere. It just doesn't happen.
>>110060507forcing normies to change their compromised passwords has probably saved billions of dollars in identity fraud
>>110060504On the character logic, the more possibility's you have per character the stronger a code would be>NumbersYou have 10 possible options to choose from per character.>LettersYou have 26 possible options to choose from per character.>SymbolsYou have 40 possible options to choose from per character.>UnicodeYou have 310,341 possible options to choose from per character. The strongest code would be an alt based one. Which is just alt + a number between 1 and 310,341. The only problem is designers haven't caught on yet. >Technically the strongest code is Ⰶ and no one cares
>>110060551They do it where I work and everyone uses 8char dictionary word passwords because of it.
>>110060551>password1>password2etc. it makes it worse because in order to remember some shit you change all the fucking time you have to simplify it and use a formulaic, repetitive approach across multiple platforms
No idea why people have so much trouble with passwords.I have one single password that I use for all my accounts which isnt using a password manager, I have this one password and then an easy to remember "salt" at the end, which changes depending on the website, then i simply put that password into a cryptographic language converter app on my phoneIt creates a completely random, very long password that I can paste and I will always be able to remember that password
>>110061509Normnigs never log out so they fuble their passwords all the time
>>110060463>what is dicewareUgh duh, it works, you only need 32 words you fucking imbecile.https://www.eff.org/files/2016/07/18/eff_large_wordlist.txt>Why did so many retards fall for this? When did /g/ turn so low IQ?
>>110060504>Heuristic dictionary attacks mean you can try ALL possible combinations of common length passwords if you assume they're passphrase based.Have you tried working out how long that will take?
>>110060463My password is the same dictionary word in five different languages (you'll never guess the fifth one).
>>110061580A few hours at most if you're doing tens of billions passwords a second like you can on a modern GPU.
