>>110061476Why can't we access our GPUs bios?
>>110061476Well anon, back in 2003 or 2004 I reflashed the BIOS on my card from a Floppy and soft bricked it on the first try. I then had to proceed blind to type the command to restore the back up BIOS, because I didn't have an old PCI (not express) graphics card to serve as display output. Another time I killed my GPU trying to flash the GeForce FX 5900 BIOS on my 5900 XT. Those were not fun times.
found out that some mobile network providers (specifically in this case Three and Vodafone) are dogshit at receiving large packets of data which is why we have customers who are at remote sites with these wireless 5G routers, still unable to access the file server even though the VPN is on and theyve swapped over to their mobile hotspot with wifi off, still isnt workinglowered the MTU size down from 1500 to 1250. Fixed immediately
How to tell if a window is bypassing gnome's compositor by pressing alt+f2, going into looking glass (lg), enabling PAINT_DAMAGE_REGION and then seeing if it is. Pretty useless, huh.

>>110061476I found out the "sold/shipped by Amazon" label is a lie and they will sell you stuff fom other sellers under their "commingling" practice or something. It said on my order "sold by Amazon, fulfilled by Other." Bullshit.

>>110061476i was reading up on attacks via usb drive the other day wondering about what mitigations happened in the wake of stuxnet and the current state of autoplay/autorun etc was and how it related to the recent thing with LG (and other) monitors autoinstalling software..anyway i'd somehow not heard of the rather obvious in retrospect "badUSB" attack until then which is just a usb drive that emulates a keyboard so when you plug it in to your pc windows just starts accepting keystrokes from the new "keyboard "and the drive sends keystrokes at max speed opening a shell and downloading malware and shit. apparently it's an actively used attack.
EFIstubs. You don't actually need a bootloader, you can enter a command during install to have your UEFI boot into Linux directly.
