Why do less people talk about Linux nowadays?
>>
>>110073221
If only that were true.
Sadly we have normgroids now flooding into the ecosystem and trashing everything they touch (as usual)
>>
>>110073221
The magic of Linux went away after it got jeeted with vibecoding
>>
>>110073250
Long before that. It went away after it was effectively acquired by Microsoft.
>>
everyone moved to linux
>>
>>110073221
good thread as always frogposter-sama

i haven't used a linux distro since 2006 i believe when we had one acting as our home server growing up, the new computer I'm building is gonna have Debian installed, just because it's a non-telemetry version of ubuntu with the same overall style apparently. I can always pirate tinysoft, but if I did It would be cool to have like a before vista version to run direct x12 with a.i. support.

Everyone? You mean the mere 3%?
>>
>>110073221
It's because a lot of people switched back to Windows since it's not ready yet unfortunately
>>
Linux is fine for servers. It's not a good OS for daily use. I wish people would stop pretending that it is. If you don't want to use wangblows, just get a mac; macOS is *nix but actually stable and usable and commercially supported.

Works on my machine, Tim Apple. I reject your hardwarehopping ways.
>>
>>110073321
Sounds about right. 3% is the rough estimate of non-NPC humans on Earth.
>>
Because I dont want to talk about the kernel
I want to talk about the desktop
>>
>>110073364
Why didn't you create a thread to shill your overpriced hardware with this time?
>>
It comes in waves. Microsoft does a fuck up, a few pissed of people migrate to Linux for a while then Microsoft patches the issue and they silently switch back

I've seen this cycle repeat multiple times
>1999 Windows Refund Day
>2003 Lindows
>2008 Netbooks
>2012 Windows 8
>2015 Windows 10 update reboots
>2021 TPM
>2025 Microslop

But the "reinstall of shame" always happens and Microsoft still wins. Same with baby ducks silently upgrading their Windows version after enough programs break compatibility.

fewer

huh? maybe its just my youtube feed but seems like more and more normies are switching due to windows/microsoft incompetence
