I wanted to be a novelist once, but then I realized nobody actually reads books anymore, so I said fuck it and started learning to code. Then I quickly realized that was another dead-end career, with the market oversaturated with jeets and AI taking over. So I thought, maybe I should learn to draw and create a battle manga, zoomies love that shit, and art needs a human touch, right? Except now AI is taking over that field too. And to make matters worse, people are so used to consuming slop like marvel capeshit and shonenshit with zero plot that I wouldn't put it past them to embrace aislop as well.
I genuinely don't know what skill is going to be worth learning over the next five years. Maybe I should become a barber. Nobody wants a robot wielding a razor blade next to their head.

cybersecurity, unironically

I'm unironically you, I also wanted to do that stuff but because of ai I decided to be blue collar which I hate it but for now it's "safe" before they make an ai about it, also barber unironically sounds good you should become that since you could get a lot of customers if you are good but a slight problem might be that you need to advertise yourself in some way

HVAC/hydronic/geo/lecky/PV ... it's only getting hotter, people want cooling and free electricity to run it.

You will fuck your body unless you become sales scum :/

That's not true at all, that's just your excuse because you're creatively bankrupt and afraid of facing that fact by actually doing the work.
>started learning to code. Then I quickly realized that was another dead-end career, with the market oversaturated with jeets and AI taking over
It's not a dead end, it's just highly competitive and absolutely soulless now, since you're just a meat proxy directing the AI to do your job for you.
>I should learn to draw
Nobody has made more noise about AI than artists, and people still care about human-generated art.

All I'm hearing is excuses. Who cares about AI? Just do what you want to do.

You'll never get a desk job unless you suck dick or get hired through nepotism or know somebody
skills are worthless (AI can do that lol)

And yet people like Houellebecq or Donna Tartt are multi millionaires from book sales alone.

People still read good books, because reading requires more effort than consooming Netflixslop

The entertainment never dies as long as humans are alive on this planet.
That's it.
