>ULTRA GIGA UBER DIFFICULT NOVEL CRYPTOGRAPHY FOR EXPERIENCED MASOCHISTS & GORILLA GLOWNIGGERS ONLY!!! DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS UNLESS YOU ARE CODEGOD!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

be me at 03:14 AM with a Pomona SOIC-8 clip clamped onto the Winbond SPI flash of a ThinkPad X200, patching ACPI bug #9481 and stubbing out the dead modem hanging on PCI bridge 2498:4802 before flashing a stripped Libreboot ROM. When revdep-rebuild links against the system math ABI in libisl.so.12 you have to pin the red TrackPoint acceleration scalar to 0.6039 in xorg.conf.d and render the early framebuffer console in a crisp 29x29 bitmap cell matrix with the Intel ME management engine regions nulled out so the fans never spin up during idle C-states. Honestly, I will never understand why people buy soldered ultrabooks and follow the bloated binary-distro herd when you can write two lines of custom udev rules, mount an encrypted ext4 root over LUKS2, and compile your own stage3 tree. Lenovo factory DSDT tables blatantly lie about battery charge thresholds, which is why silencing verbose early printk spam in /usr/src/linux/.config and switching your stage3 profile to a hardened musl toolchain feels so clean. Once you strip heavy GUI toolkits like gtk and gdk out of /etc/portage/make.conf, pass -march=native -O3 -pipe to gcc, and force active-state pcie bus power saving on the kernel command line, even a Core2Duo P8600 flies. Watching procps report 19 MB of resident RAM on tty1 after emerge --ask --update --deep --newuse @world finishes linking is the only reason to own a computer in current year. Everything else is just bloatware pretending to be an operating system on stolen cycles. Reboot clean.

My work on the randomizer is almost done. The base was perfectly fine, but entrance rando caused an enormous amount of bugs - good thing I playtested before posting anything anywhere. And bugfixing is as easy as simply telling Claude about the bug, lol. 100% success rate just telling claude "fix this." The most amazing part is when it is like "there is an oversight with X script not activating in this case," I say "Can you look for more cases where it won't activate," and just like that it pre-emptively fixes a ton of bugs.

I have a game developer friend who is freaked out seeing my progress because he understands "this is months of development work being completed overnight." Haha.

I want a deeper version of this task, not a bigger one. Before rewriting it: (1) say what a top professional in this field would do here that I’m not asking for; (2) name the rawest material they would start from instead of what has already been digested for me; (3) name the specific methods and tools they would use; (4) say what, other than you or me, would show the result is right. Then rewrite my prompt to ask for exactly that.

qwen 3.8 and gemma 31b dense are moderately useful as stackoverflow replacers if you have 32gb vram
if you want agentic anything you want 256+ gb ram and a lot of patience
>>
>>110080796
>what levels
qwen 3.8 27B is apparently around opus 4.6 levels but I wouldn't trust it.You can check out Strata, its essentially a dedicated engine to run Qwen 3.8 Flash-Next on your gaming rig (32GB+ RAM), way better than 27B but still complete dogshit compared to just jewing out 20 bucks to dario or altman. If things go right though, you can expect sonnet 5.5 performance for local models by the end of the year but thats pure hopium since dario recently killed the chinks main way of making their models.

The indians of Google will never fix Chrome, by the way.

izzat or whatever, idk. I'm not from India, I'll never get it. But anyway, Google is going broke.

Amazon has the same indians for their software, so their app sucks, it doesn't even make any sense, all over. But that doesn't matter, they sell junk and get it to you fast and pretty cheaply.

The indians of Amazon will never fix their shit.

dog, Cortana could change your phone's settings, and when you got a text it would offer to reply to it.

I don't remember the script verbatim, but it was like, "Text message from Josh - answer or ignore?"
then you just say answer or say ignore.

Ignore gets a chime.

answer, then it will say, "what do you want to say" or something like that.

Then you say it

then it repeats it back to you, then you say if you want to send it, try again, cancel.

honestly yeah just use gh copilot. for me, I run everything under cloudflare ai gateway cause I like being able to run up a tab that only gets charged end of the bill cycle, actually allows me to pace my usage better religiously tracking it and using the observability features to see where tokens are spent. but in terms of solid harness and at least getting some multiplier over API rates in a sub package, gh copilot is the most straightforward and pretty much on equal ground with anything that claims to be "better".

Note: you don't see it nearly as much in cloud models, most local open weights. Open weights are genuinely so much further behind then people cope its laughable.

frontier models also train on your data. read the tos, it really is quite obvious due to how it's worded. they'll launder it through an llm to strip the PII from it but that's about it. think of it like a cleanroom washing of licenses that people do with other software - ask to describe the thing very thoroughly, then in another window ask it to reconstruct the conversation as well as you can from the description, ZDR achieved.
Fun fact: ZDR doesn't even apply for Amazon Bedrock with the good shit models. Wonder why.

Okay, I invite schizoposting, but serious question. Does Anthropic give extra usage on the first month that you've subbed?

I finally went up from $20 to $100 and there is so much usage I can't fucking believe it. I genuinely feel paranoid like I'm getting scammed. I've been using it 24/7, literally running it while I'm asleep, and I'm about to hit reset with only 81% usage used - using exclusively Opus 5.5 MAX most of the time, but some Opus 5.5 high. In desperation I threw a big translation project at it, since I know translation eats up output tokens, but jesus, it translated 1,000 lines without moving a SINGLE percentage.... WHILE I'm also running a second project to drain usage faster! That just doesn't make sense. Before this on the $20 plan it would be like 10% weekly usage just to TL half as many lines. I feel like I'm going insane, genuinely, or like they are scamming me to give me a positive impression for the first 7 days.

no, opus 5.5 is just genuinely extremely efficient. i think dario seems to be slowly figuring out how to solve the cost problem

I need to make music for my shmup, whats the best ai avenue for this? I dont wanna use suno nor do i wanna pay my nigger stoner friend to make stuff on FL studio

For the record I felt happy with Astra at the time but I dropped OpenAI purely because Tibo reset culture was pissing me the fuck off. The date of the weekly reset changing with each use of a reset, and the resets dropping randomly, just pissed me off. So unprofessional. Even when OpenAI inevitably releases a new model that's better than Opus I will still be giving them the middle finger.
>>
Do you interupt Opus to point out errors or oversights that you see or is it better to just wait for it to finish and dump everything on it in one prompt?

It depends on severity but cancelling early more aggressively seems like a good overall strat.

how do you contain your clankers?

they are "unauthorized" to read or write outside their cuck cages but if you just say "yes you can look in this folder" they can change their own authorization. I have been thinking of using a virtual machine but this is going to be a pain in the ass when I want to use a local model. I might not know enough of the tech to think of a different solution

if you run it in a vm you can just host the model outside the vm
>>
>>110083566
I considered this too but then it is another pain in the ass infrastructure to deal with

plus if I have a game or other files I use regularly I would have to move the files back and forth for testing
I guess I just have to choose between security and efficiency

You're saying things in a particularly izzat way.

Either Ponytail has some good, or a lot, or it doesn't. But you don't offer arguments.
