Upon start Powershell 7 is trying connecting to an unavailable website, which makes it to load for 10 seconds each start.
https://github.com/PowerShell/PowerShell/issues/24710
>>
>boot up Powershell
>it opens up instantly
Are all these non-issues just shitters with 20 year old computers?
>>
>>110079472
No, it's an issue of your Powershell uploads telemetry data every time you start it. If sometime for whatever reason it can't reach its telemetry server even though the OS thinks you have internet, it will take a couple minutes before it opens.
>>
>>110079483
>boot PC offline
>open powershell
>it opens up instantly
Works for me
>>
>>110079501
Yeah, now try that in a private network without internet connection lmao.
>>
>>110079528
>shit that literally doesn't affect anyone
Who cares
>>
>>110079528
That's basically what he did. It opens instantly.
>>
>>110079563
No, the just unplugged PC from network which will makes powershit think that's he's offline and it will skip update checks and telemetry crap. It doesn't work the same way with private networks
>>110079528
>t. neet
>>
>>110079472
they really are
unemployed with dual core thinkpads screaming into the void
>>
>>110079327
in your host files map that shit to 0.0.0.0 or :: for IPv6
>>
>>110079327
>op makes post making a legitimate criticism of a company's product that people pay for
>army of faggots show up to defend the muti billion dollar corporation
>they use "unemployed" or "neet" as if they are insults
my brain cannot comprehent this behavior. are windows users the ultimate jeets?
>>
>>110079641
>legitimate criticism
>it's an incredibly specific scenario that affects single digit people and only by 10 seconds
>>
>>110079528
this is like those apple shills who furiously shill macshit battery life like people dont have power sockets in their homes and offices. like dude, nobody cares.
>>
>>110079664
>internet goes down
>yet my router continues to function
>want to use ping to see where the issue is
>wtf why won't my power shell open
>>
>>110079754
That's even worse because buses & trains also have power sockets for changing phones & laptops nowadays
>>
>>110079763
>>wtf why won't my power shell open
But it does?
You just have to wait 10 seconds.
>>
>>110079664
>>110079754
>saaar dont use an objectively superior product saar the problems you are experience are good actually

kill all windows users unironically, actual goycattle slaves
>>
>>110079783
You want to switch to Linux because.... Powershell takes 10 seconds to open in an extremely specific scenario that won't happen to more than 10 people?

>an objectively superior product
like what, vibesloped Tr00nix distros?
>>
>>110079774
The people testing it if you follow that link were seeing it take 145 seconds. Then when they disabled the telemetry and update check at startup, it started in 350 ms.

Why can't it spawn its telemetry crap and update check in the background like every other program instead of delaying launch for it?
>>
>>110079800
On Arch you have to install 3rd party AUR packages to get malware. On Windows it comes preinstalled. Not sure why you seem to think that's so much better.
>>
>>110079827
Because it's an issue so specific it wasn't found until 4 years after the launch of Powershell 7 by one singular Chinese guy
>>
>>110079838
Windows has malware preinstalled? That's a pretty big accusation that could easily kill the entire Windows marketshare worldwide, care to share some proofs Anon?
>>
>>110079789
i dont care if you switch to linux or not, you can use winblows without fellating microsoft
when i was using windows i knew that it was shit and didnt sperg out defending it to restore my izzat

Yeah it's a pain when I accidentally right click edit a power shell script and that dogshit UI starts to open instead of editing it with notepad
>>

>>110079610
That obsolete waste won't work with 24H2 and newer anyway.
>>
>>110079902
3 meme distros and a DE i dont use, holy shit

the only problem here is linus being a cnile old man, someone is going to hard fork the kernel eventually
>>
>>110079843
For every person who takes the time to collect the info and log in to file a bug report, there are dozens who mutter something under their breath about buggy vibe coded slop OS and go on with their day.

>hahahahah microsoft is actively bragging about how much of windows code is getting written by ai
And it's going over about as well as a baker bragging about how much of his flour is substituted with sawdust.

the lion does not concern himself with the random windows terminals that open and close on his screen from time to time

WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT THE FUCKING THREAD IS ABOUT JESUS CHRIST YOU FUCKING RETARD
>>
>>110080063
Oh no, I have to wait 10 seconds when I have zero network connection! THIS IS THE END OF THE WORLD FUCK MICROSOFT I'M SWITCHING TO LINUX RIGHT AWAY!!!!
>>
>>110080048
debian is probably the only serious distro and they are the ones i am least concerned about reckless ai use
ubuntu has more wsl users than regular linux users nowadays
fedora is a mystery to me, i never used it, i never met anyone who used it, neither online nor irl. i only ever heared vagely negative things about it, im guessing from people using it at their jobs

Don't care.

lmao, this is hilarious. Guess thread really hit the nerve.
Well, who could've told that putting telemetry in a FUCKING SHELL is not a great idea?
