Are there any non cope arguments on why tech is not dead?
I went into tech because it was something I am reasonably good at, and it allowed me to make an honest living (though not too exciting or well paid in my shithole). Now this apparently will be gone in a few years.
Some say tech is not dead, but all their arguments are cope such as:
>AI can't write code
>It can't troubleshoot
>It has bad taste
>You have to LEARN how to use ai (even when a retard would have no problems learning ai)
>It's subsidized and the bubble will pop in two more weeks
>My job is safe because I'm a 190 IQ big boy working with hardware like Jim Keller
Please provide your best non cope arguments on why tech workers should not be too pessimistic.
>>
But tech is dead. It's only going to get worse now as we lose the last few threads of private computing and control.
>>
>I can no longer get paid 200k for changing the padding of divs on a webpage, tech is dead!!!!

Your job is next. Enjoy living on a CBDC-based UBI with a strictly limited allowance on how much protein you are allowed to consume.

Guess you aren't good at "tech", then
>>
>>110093774
Yes i know, I just want to see if there is ANY non cope reason why it's not
>>
>>110093781
I don't get paid that much and I don't do web dev
>>
>>110093870
I'm still employed, I'm just seeing the writing on the wall
>>
>>110093754
Which is worse?
>>
>>110093813
This would honestly be a upgrade from my current position in life.
>>
the problem is not the tech itself
the problem is that it's all under control of rent-seeking monopolies

ai wold be exciting and useful if it was in control of people with an interest to serve mankind, not weirdo silicon valley cultists that want humanity replaced
>>
>>110093754
>i didn't go into tech for free bucks not because i like tech
sucks to be u LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
>>
>>110094267
Mankind will find ways to misuse and break with this kinda technology loose. I know I would.
>>
>>110094053
male mice don't get along though. If you do social experiments with mice you need a haram of white mice and a single black mouse. with a gene that makes it's penis bigger.
>>
>>110094288
the problem isn't a few bad apples but a completely broken system
>>
>>110094326
It's there because the threat of violence is the only thing that works 100% on your average normalnigger.
>>
>>110094361

It doesn't.
It can be an important tool but ruins society as a main tool. The Russian and Soviet system worked on the all punishment and intimidation system and it made for misery which reduced productivity and morale and innovation. People afraid are stressed more and burnout easier.

Nah, North Korea ia starting to look more and more utopian by the day with how things are developing in our hellscape of modernity

point still stands - actually competent people have no reason to fear losing their job
AI only feels like danger to people who are
1. incompetent with no perspective for skill improvement,
b) unproductive/not delivering any value

a job is not supposed to be adult daycare. you're not entitled to money just for existing
>>
>>110095709
You clearly have never had a job. In my 23 years in the field, I have never seen a skilled person promoted, a nocoder NOT get promoted and kept indefinitely, or someone skilled not have a hell of a time even getting interviews. Relative to each period, of course, it means they still had to try hard in the covid hiring craze but still managed to find stuff, while they're the kind to rot in a university's support facility outside these lucky few periods - if they're lucky.

>if it was in control of people with an interest to serve mankind
remember the industrial revolution?
machines are able to do the work of a hundred men in a fraction of the time.
experts predicted the end of long hours and that we would only work two to three hours per day because of how much more productive we will become.

look how that turned out.
lmfao.

>point still stands - actually competent people have no reason to fear losing their job
This is wrong. It never depends on what you know or can, it depends entirely on what management thinks about you and the future. Crunch is coming, big time and managers are very unsure how to hancle VUCA. They do, however, know really well how to mass fire people.

It’s not dead because tech companies are still highly valued. Wake me up when they go -80% because AI broke their businesses.
>>
>>110094053
Mice fuck missionary?
>>
>>110093781
That wasn't true in the past but it'll be true in the future
>>
>>110093754
Tech won't be dead but it would become smaller and more centralized. Tech companies are starting to figure out that their workforce is more bloated than they need to be. The trend of normies getting into tech would be reversed. They can no longer hide behind the veil of ambiguity.
>>
>>110093754
Is this a study for shock collars or something?
>>
>>110096101
>it depends entirely on what management thinks about you and the future
it's your business to make that clear. that's a part of being competent

>>110095894
sure thing, buddy
>>
>>110093754
Tech is more than software.
>>
>>110096640
OK jobless nepobaby jeet.
>>
>>110093754
The "traditional", corporate way of looking at tech is dying. But tech has never been more alive.

We have limitless tools at our fingertips, access to nearly infinite data, and consumer hardware more powerful than military grade hardware from 30 years ago.

It's not that tech is dying. It's that the people using it have become jaded, and that the masses were never qualified to have it.
>>
>>110096266
Why did you think they call it moussionary?
>>
>>110093813
nah i have a real job that you have to show up for and that has to be done right so ai will literally never replace me. if anything im going to be completely pissed being the last man who has to go to work every day while the rest of you enjoy neeting in your UBIpods
>>
>>110095894
Autistic cope. No one likes working with you, and that is the problem. Just because someone is liked by their coworkers and their management does not mean they're a "nocoder". If you have never seen a skilled person promoted, that means YOU are the retard, who completely misunderstands what skills they are looking for.

If what you're saying was true, how in the fuck would successful companies be successful? You really think all the tech, finance, insurance, etc companies in the fortune 50 just got there by some kind of giga-nepotism, or by accident or something? Competence is completely necessary to stay competitive. Maybe you're just confessing that you've only worked at gutter tier shit hole companies, which I would believe no problem.
