Father of Linux has spoken.
Use AI or get the fuck out.
Extremely based and redpilled.

Can we open source and fork linus out of his position now?

Very based, I have nothing but contempt for luddites. Progress can never be stopped.

VibeBROS… we fucking won (once again)

>it's useful
If it was you wouldn't have to spend 24x7 saying it. What a sad sack of shit
>PLEASE GOD USE IT
no
>PLLLLLEEEEEASE
No. Simple as.
>>
the dissonance among ludites is amazing
>we, open source enthusiasts, shall not use AI-ack
at this point who is "we" lmao
you and your anime bodypillow and your parents? because everyone else uses AI.
>>
>troons force you to write a CoC
>troons force you to merge rustlang
>Altmanites force you to shill AI
>Altmanites force you to vibecode a PR with a race condition
is Linus the biggest loser on earth?
>>
>>110100837
He's grounded in reality and has contributed more to society than any of us will. I don't think so.

that was awesome

Cool. Maybe SI can help LTT recover from all these hosts quitting to start their own channel.
>>

>you wouldn't have to spend 24x7 saying it
Unless you were talking to people who decry it without having used it, which is most people.
>>
>>110100002
Linux is a project with a lot of contributors. They're used to seeing trash code and rejecting. I'm not surprised by this position. They already have the whole workflow figured out. AI or not, if your code is slop, it's rejected.
>>
>>110104127
AI is useful in the right hands, otherwise it's a curse. I've worked in several projects and when there's a culture of AI agents, it's absolutely going to be dog shit unless there's someone forcing breaks. AI doesn't make anyone better, it just amplifies what you were. If you're a slop dev with no discipline and careless about quality, you're only going to get that amplified, and it will be nightmare for seniors.
>>
>>110100002
This proves it, Linux is just an oldfag who sees ai slop and claps now. This was going to happen eventually.
>>
>>110104194
and there's nothing the angry unemployed can do about it except keep getting angry and debate linux vs windows as the world around them evolves
>>
>>110104215
I'm not angry, I hardly give a fuck about Linux anyways.
>>
>>110100002
luddites are like vegans going to restaurants and trying to force the owners to stop serving meat
build your own OS, since you value human skill so much you should be able to do it
>>
>>110100002
I think this is the final nail in the coffin to get me to completely stop using technology. I am applying to become a forest ranger. Hopefully, I can be far away from this AI shit.
>>
>>110104382
>Making an operating system is really hard. That means we should rely on crappy AI assistance instead of just paying a team of people to do it.
>If you think human skill is so important you should be able to do anything any human can.
Nigga, can you be any more retarded?
>>
>>110100008
I don't know but I'm on a LTS kernel because of dogshit mainline has been lately.
>>
>>110105606
Mainline is better than it has ever been at any point in history—it is no contest. Bugs are down. Performance is up. Stability is more rock solid than ever before. Linux is in a golden age right now.
>>
>>110105619
Wrong. I can't even boot mainline on my desktop because of how fucking broken the latest DRM pull was you stupid fucking clanker.
>>
>>110105668
I haven't seen so many graphics driver bugs since 2006.

When I say "desktop" I mean a Zen 4/RDNA3 box, not a 2006 shitpad running libreboot.
I do have one of those, mind, but that thing is objectively a toy.
>>
>>110105946
User error. AI makes a superior Linux kernel—you are a Luddite.
>>
>>110105619

you can't even put your machine to sleep nowadays, it's a hit or miss.

NOPE
The other part is true though
>>
>>110100002
>Use AI or get the fuck out.
Shots fired, as they say.

I think that this time, some significant people *are* going to get the fuck out. Can't wait to hear what the new mainstream non-AI non-Rust non-Torvalds kernel fork is going to be called. :)

At this time, after all these decades, Torvalds is a much of a clueless out of touch loser as Stallman. Good riddance to both.
>>
>>110100002
Linus is one of the few people I trust with vibe coding. This dude is infamous for his refusal to ship shit code that looks like it could be a problem in userspace and chewing the people committing such code to him. Aside from him, I wouldnt trust anyone else.
>>
>>110105619
I'm some sort of a kernel developer myself
>>
>>110104148
Right but AI obviously avoids code smell and circumvents whatever heuristic they were using.
The only heuristic that actually works is Suckless philosophy.
>>
>>110106577
Thats actually due to complexity of dealing with an increased amount of drivers and features, not because a version of Linux has suddenly gone worse.

For your information I used Claude to help me debug why my arch hyprland desktop has trouble going to sleep. Turns out after some process of elimination it was because laptop and deep memory mode dont work well together. You need to have s2idle for kernel power. That should actually be taken on by a smart Linux plumber.
>>
>>110100656
>If it was you wouldn't have to spend 24x7 saying it.
Well yes, when you're constantly besieged by deranged trannies with anti-AI psychosis (such as yourself) having a pants-shitting melty and demanding that AI not be used at all (which is a totally unenforceable position anyway), as a project maintainer, you have to put your foot down and dump a cold bucket of reality over these "people".
>>
>>110106983
Suckless is retarded—AI is the future.
>>
>>110105240
Can you? None of that was what the OP said. He said it's a tool you can use if you aren't clueless about it. Oh wait, you skipped reading?
>instead of just paying a team of people to do it.
When did you hallucinate it was about "paying teams" when it's an open-source project? You did skip reading. mm. who's the retard now?
>>
>>110107063
I wasnt responding to OP you braindead moron.
