You people say coding is dead and learning it is pointless. Yet this professor from Stanford says you should learn to code. Who's doing the lying?

This Nga's last name is 2 letters and it's not even 2 cool letters like Ho. It's more like a chemical element.

Academics tend to be very behind the curve. With that said one thing neither academia nor the industry knows at this point of AI integration what "software education" even is at this point. How much do we need to learn and how do we do it? Literally no one knows. It's an extremely fluid situation. Most experienced devs are hardly hand coding at all anymore, but it's obviously less than ideal to do this without understanding how to read/review code and check the AI, which requires some kind of education and experience. Such a catch 22.

>washed up AI fag who has never had to work a day in his life and cannot be fired even if he should be is telling you to enter a highly precarious career which has historically never been safe and is supposedly being disrupted by the very technology he is trying to be relevant about
Geeze louise!

I hope he won't be the next terence tao

ok, but it makes sense for private usage or for these who will keep their jobs (small percent of devs)

he's the embodiment of modern deep learning, not AI. researchers are supposed to pursuit the truth, but this guy instead ride the DL hype train and sell his course platform. it's a disgrace to science, and frankly the whole field is like this money sucking sucker now.
