>>110102416I will admit that lately I have been feeling pretty tempted to use AI video generation to turn my screenplays into movies. After watching the video and seeing where AI's filmmaking capabilities currently are however, I can't say the temptation is as strong anymore. I think there are other means of turning a story idea into a film that are more effective and impactful than what AI can deliver at this point in time, be it using Blender, Unreal Engine, or getting a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. There are numerous issues you can see in the video. AI just cannot seem to get consistency right, it also drops the ball when trying to handle scenes with large crowds of people, and the dialogue feels like they're narrating an audiobook. Also, GPT-Image-2 (OpenAI's current image generation model) tends to produce uncanny textures on people and objects that makes the image feel unsettling.I don't think AI video generation is anywhere near ready to be used in a final cut for audiences in this state. I can kind of understand using AI video generation internally as a sort of preliminary sandbox to test out ideas and concepts that can later be used in the final product once the actual production starts, but I'm very dubious about the idea of using AI generated movies as the final product itself. I think it's safe to say that AI is not going to imperil organic human filmmaking anytime soon.

I don't see what the big deal is. He just took an old script he wrote as a goof and toyed around with Grok in his spare tome. Even he admits it looks like shit and has bad composition.
So in the past couple of years in addition to his Youtube channel:- published 3 multiplatform games- built a "retro" computer- started a arcade with his brother- not to mention the logistics in planning, designing, scheduling, physical work involved with those projects.- made a film that will no doubt be cringey AI slop, but is a starting point to learn what works and what doesn't, kind of like your shitty programs that nobody wants to see.I give him credit for trying. >>110115731>finds rare boxed computer prototype>has trouble with it>tries shoving paperclip into power supply>i've totally done this before guys>smokes computerbut the part that pisses people off is his total dismissal of peoples' complaints about taking so little care with a prototype, like "i owned it i can do what i want with it", which while sure, you can, but don't be surprised when people get mad at you for saying it, it's not what you expect from someone whose viewers enjoyed seeing you repair stuff

Putting aside how terrible everything looks, the script is just terrible. None of the characters had any distinguishable voice or personality, the dialogue is repititive, overly expository, and flat. The story is full of holes, like why the government is just letting one guy run the secret superhero base unsupervised. Scenes don't build up to anything and then just end. The story is extremely shoddy and derivative. Nothing has any real consequence. I wasn't expecting any real depth, but this is like something out of a middle school creative writing class.
>>110115759There are two paperclip incidents. The other one, a power supply in a computer was shutting off instantly. Instead of searching for the (obvious) short circuit, he connected a second more beefy power supply with paper clips and blew up a component instead.Luckily it was only the already failed component that blew up, but it was foolish regardless. There's a webm of it but I can't be fucked to find it right now.

>>110117281>Those are perfectly healthy and normal things to fantasize about,See but you shouldn't tell people that, is the thing. I can fantasize myself as superman but if I start telling other people I'm superman and making fanfics about being Superman, then that is cringe because I am projecting at that point. Not simply fantasizing.

>>110117686He got a rare one-of-a-kind executive workstation from an Austin computer parts retailer liquidation sale. It was likely used by a company closely related to Texas Instruments in the early nineties. It also used one-of-a-kind disk drive formatting so he couldn't just image the drive by putting it in another computer. On top of that, it used one-button power-on for both the monitor and motherboard when that was still state-of-the-art for motherboards. He wanted to bang out a video about it but was going to a convention, so instead of finding the correct solution or trying to test pins to find out where voltage mains went, he stuck a paper clip to short the power board straight into voltage mains in hopes that he would bridge AC power for the monitor and PC power supplies. This went as well as you expected, and the vintage one-of-a-kind computer is now landfill.
>>110117704>the vintage one-of-a-kind computer is now landfillit got passed on to someone with a clue who did manage to fix it in the end (video was linked earlier in the thread)

>>110119153These people are getting tedious quickly. Almost every faceless video on YT now has someone in the comments accusing them of using an AI voice. Sometimes they're right it is an AI voice but often the person running the channel will say it's their own voice, at which point the initial poster doubles down and calls them a liar, claiming to be able to detect AI voices "from extensive experience". It would be one thing if they simply didn't like the sound of AI voices. Some of them do suck really bad, especially that over used nasally black guy voice. But most of these posters are complaining that AI voices destroy work for voice actors. If the alternative is the content creator using their own voice instead of an AI voice, those voice actors still aren't getting work. All they're accomplishing is making themselves look unworthy of sympathy.

>>110104312Things created by AI are manifestations of the algorithms' "creativity," not the users'. When someone sees something made by AI that is genuinely interesting, they will praise the algorithm's capability, not the prompt writer's creativity. This is inevitable. Those deluded enough to think they'll build an "artistic career" with AI will learn this sooner or later, when people, instead of asking, "Who made this?", will ask, "What algorithm was used to generate this?"
>>110119332This shit has led to some channels I follow starting to show their ugly mugs on camera as "proof" that they're not AI. But getting on camera will just lead to the same narcissism that has killed so many other creators.

>>110121799A script isn't worth shit. Terrible scripts can produce incredible movies if the actors, music, cinematography, etc., are of good quality. And guess what? The cinematography, music, and actors were all generated by an algorithm.Even if the movie is good, what you'll end up admiring is the capability of the tool that generated it, not what that idiot "prompter" did. By the way, "prompter" will always be a derogatory term. If humanity ever goes extinct and machines carry on our culture, even they'll use "prompter" to insult one another.
>>110117164This. If anything AI showing that there is no such thing as gatekeeping. The gates just exist. I'm not a creative person, I know that. I don't live under that delusion, but many, many people do and now they're finding out that even if it's 80% luck and 20% talent to do something great, it still takes some talent. If people want to make stuff for themselves, that's fine but people are going to find out there is little difference between talent, passion, and obsession. I've seen some good AI videos. I wonder how many times they iterated over them or were willing to throw work away to learn the emerging "AI craft". I think a lot of people just take the first thing AI shits out and move on.

At this point just submit the script itself, at least there you can more quickly see "ok this script isn't AI generated it may be worth something" and then you judge it for what it is, a script.I think the end result will be the same - if one is not willing to put in effort to hand-produce the thing (by animating or other means), people are just not going to bother.Sure an AI-generated forum post MIGHT just have the funniest joke or a jewel of information hidden in it, but what are the chances, and why should I waste my time figuring that out, if there are thousands of posts written by actual humans, where I at least have the guarantee "someone believed in their thoughts enough to sit down and manually write them out rather than telling a slop machine to do it for them".>>110123772>he proompted his dream goth gf naked covered by nothing but a blanketMisrepresenting shit award. She was on a hospital bed wearing a hospital blanket (covering her entire body) and the AI kept making clothes stick out which made no sense.
