>>110105363Is fedora KDE good?
>>110105382Yes.The only thing I dislike are the default KDE animations and it takes a bit of effort to deactivate them everywhere. But if that is done everything just works

There's also a Fedora Atomic based KDE distro called Aurora. Sibling to Bazzite.
>>110105264I only use caffeine, appindicators and the lock keys, but this later one is not necessary, just QoL shit.
>>110104587I still don't understand why it's still the default and it's still not KDE.
>>110105676i look like this
More people should to start reccomending Fedora for beginners rather than something like Mint desu It is the best “it just werks” distro
fedora used to be really fucking shit but it seems like it's actually really good now. kinda solved the whole "what do i recommend to new linux users?" problem considering how fucked up ubuntu is now. i don't know why they don't really document the fact that you can stay one version behind though.
>>110106047I still don't understand why Mint is being recommended to desktop users when it's so outdated. Especially if you're using a Nvidia card. It's also just not that good
>>110106142LMDE version is good, but Cinammon DE is meh
>>110105397Do they still ship a whole fucking ecosystem of useless apps that you have to remove post-install?I really like what kubuntu does there, except for having no updates
>>110106356It has most of the KDE bloatware removed.
>>110103621That's not Gentoo or Slackware or Void
>>110106506it's always striking how snappy slackware feels to use despite it being so bloated
>>110106047It's Red Hat's beta test, and it doesn't just work.Every time I try it out, there's at least one bug, usually with the gooey. I've never seen so many bugs on any other distro.

>>110106777First answer will say: "Debian, of course".Second answer will say: "Fedora, debian sucks!"And so on.
Fedora KDE has solved the linux desktop, the only issue is no snapshots by default (why the fuck is this)
no lizard in the logo, automatic fail.
>>110107160Fedora is literal glowie-ware. More back doors than /LGBT/

>>110103621>Linux's finestwe're fucked then
>>110103621I installed this shit and it comes with btrfs by default, has big ass update packages everyday that requires restarts, and does stupid shit like keep 3 latest kernels in the boot loader that's also likely wasting disk space
>>110103621Agreed. ALL THEY NEED TO DO IS ADD A "INSTALL MEDIA CODECS" BUTTON LIKE THERE IS FOR GPU DRIVERS!!It's really annoying for new users to track down the right codecs.
Aftert Microsoft deliberately repelled me as a customer I switched to Fedora KDE. I don't know what I'm doing on Linux, but if there's an issue I copy and paste CLI commands from Grok and it just works.
>>110105645Many reasons.GNOME releases everything at once as an atomic release, whereas KDE has different release schedules for libraries, apps and Plasma.GNOME was historically part of GNU.Until relatively recently, only GNOME was fully integrated as system components whereas KDE was kind of a standalone bolt-on.GNOME is the in-house option, whereas historically KDE depended on a non-free Qt toolkit.GNOME historically had better accessibility support and corporate sponsorship e.g. from Sun Microsystems for Solaris and Red Hat for RHEL.
>>110106831>Debian>FedoraThey're both actually quite good in different ways and are basically the twin bosses of Linux, with Arch as the comfy enthusiast desktop. You don't need anything else.
